Hello, this auction is for a 2001 Acura CL Coupe. Car is wrecked, light and high on the front passenger side. Runs fine, is not leaking antifreeze and condenser for AC still functions fine. The headlight is broken, but I have it, took it off so a buyer could see the damage. The ballast is undamaged and still on it, in the trunk. Also the plastic core support cover is in the trunk too, again, so a buyer could see in there. The core support is bent in on the top, not bad, and the hood is done for. Fenders may be useable if you wanted to fix them, if not, new ones are cheap. Both drivers wheel and pass dash airbags are blown, and the belt locked. Car has normal wear and tear for a car with 128,981 miles on it, but timing belt was just replaced at 116,000 miles, and had new ball joints installed. Title is clear, the only known issue before the crash was that sometimes, (only when the car sits awhile) the trans will shift a bit hard, but it has always done that, and fluid is clean and full. Never seemed of any concern, and is fine after its warmed up. The car can be driven home if you want, as I said, drives and cools fine. Also, Please come look at it if you like before you buy it. I encourage it, so you know exactly what you are buying. There is NO warranty, and NO returns. I will ask for your license so I can write your info on a receipt for you and me, because you will assume all liability for the car at purchase. I will not let you drive away without you signing the title, and getting your info, so there is no liability on my behalf. Sorry, but if you don't have that info, aren't willing to give it to me, or a valid drivers license, don't bid. I know. Pain in the a##, but this is the new world. Also, ask any questions early, I don't sit and watch the computer, so please give me time to get back to you.

2014 Acura RLX
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Earlier in the year, I reviewed a powder-blue Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, and I witnessed a group of high-school-aged girls ogling the car as it sat in my driveway. In my head, I found it to be a funny-yet-fitting scene that I didn't think of again until a 2014 Acura RLX showed up in my driveway. This time around, an elderly neighborhood couple stopped to give the big Acura sedan a closer look. The RLX is trying to shed past stereotypes of its predecessor, the Acura RL, just like the Beetle. Hoping to avoid becoming the de facto "grandpa car," Acura has completely reworked - and renamed - its flagship sedan.
As the bookend to the new entry-level ILX, the addition of the 2014 RLX might give Acura its strongest sedan lineup ever as the automaker looks to break the cycle of being a middle-of-the-road luxury brand. Stepping up to the big-boy table isn't going to be easy, though, as the competition keeps getting tougher. Forget cars like the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5 Series, the Acura RLX is going to have its hands full with the likes of the Cadillac XTS, Lexus GS and Hyundai Genesis, not to mention a strong consortium of lower-priced, mid-luxury sedans like the Hyundai Azera, Toyota Avalon and Chevy Impala. The one thing all of these cars have in common is a reputation for being an old man cruiser.
I spent a week with the new RLX to see if it could shake the stigma of its outdated predecessor or if it would just leave me searching for the nearest early bird specials.
Acura NSX production car headed for Detroit debut?
Tue, 23 Oct 2012Auto Express is reporting that Honda is set to unveil the production version of its upcoming Acura NSX at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. The news comes courtesy of an unnamed "top exec" for Honda Brazil speaking at the Sao Paulo Motor Show. The concept version of the Japanese supercar is currently on display there. Interestingly enough, the same unnamed source claims the production iteration will remain aesthetically identical to the show car. You won't hear any qualms from us on that front.
Of course, the timing of the production debut is a little confusing. For starters, when Acura unveiled the concept last year, the company told the world it would be at least three years before production began. That would give the street-worthy model a 2014 or 2015 designation, the latter being cited more often in media accounts. Thus, we'll keep an eye out for the hybrid supercar in Motown, but we're going to stop short of holding our breath... it might be a while.
Honda debuts NSX Concept-GT hybrid racer
Fri, 16 Aug 2013Not to be outdone by Lexus and its new LF-CC racecar, Honda is also bringing a little more excitement to the Japanese Super GT racing series with its NSX Concept-GT. Yes, just like the original NSX, this racecar will wear the Honda badge in its home market when it replaces the current offering in that series, the non-production HSV-010 GT, which itself replaced the NSX in the series back in 2010.
Looking exactly how we'd imagine a race-prepped 2015 Acura NSX to look, this racer is mean and sexy at the same time, and it will be powered by a racing hybrid system with a turbocharged four-cylinder mounted behind the driver. No word on power output, but it will compete in the GT500 class, which restricts power output to 500 horsepower. Unlike the Lexus racecar, the Honda NSX Concept-GT will being competing this season starting with this weekend's race at the Suzuka Circuit before running the full 10-race 2014 season.
