2004 Acura Mdx Touring 3rd Seat Nav Awd Excelllent Maintained Needs Nothing on 2040-cars
Wexford, Pennsylvania, United States
I'm the guy that "pre-kids" kept my
vehicles in better shape than me….Porsche's, Alfa's, and all kinds of fun
sports cars. Then…..along came kids and my 2004 Acura MDX. I bought
it from the original owner out of Chicago and drove it home about 5 years ago.
This vehicle has been nothing short of excellent in every aspect.
I'm the guy that changed oil every 3k to 3.5k miles, rotated tires,
repaired everything as needed and kept up on the scheduled maintenance.
The timing chain and major maintenance was done on this vehicle about 50k
miles ago. Nav disc recently updated. BTW…6 disc CD Changer. I'll include all the service records I have and perhaps the
local Acura (Baierl Acura) dealer can give me a printout. If it it needed
it, I fixed it…end of story. Right now the vehicle is in tip top running
condition. Tires are about 65% tread left, brakes are all excellent,
recent oil change, recent new plugs and coil packs. There are no known
issues and it is PA inspected until August 2014. Nobody has a crystal
ball especially with used vehicles but this motor and tranny and all aspects of
this vehicle performs like new. In cold weather (below 30 degrees), the
power steering pump is loud until it warms up. I was told a flush of the
system would fix that and may do it this week but it affects nothing and within
a few short minutes its nice and quiet. The AWD takes me everywhere I
ever wanted to go. Heated seats work….(driver lumbar support not
inflating…its very comfortable but not adjusting). The power seats and all options work
great. I installed a Parrot hands free
unit that has a loose wire so it works intermittently. It can be paired with a Bluetooth phone but
again…loose wire needs found to function.
This truck starts, drives, looks and functions 100% in every
aspect. I love it. I’m the guy that buys a 3 or 4-year-old
vehicle every 5 years and then sells a well-maintained vehicle. I don’t see any reason it can’t be driven
another 160k miles on this motor and tranny but no promises J. The paint is nice, no rust and very
clean. You will find an occasional ding
(rare) and light scratch here and there.
I always kept it waxed and shiny and took pride. The exterior represents a very well
maintained 160k-mile vehicle. The interior
leather is all good…no rips or tears and has a nice look. It has some wear here and there and again
represents the age and mileage nicely. I’d
represent the both the exterior and interior an easy 8 out of 10. This has been my vehicle for
my sales job, trade shows, family functions, xmas trees, vacations pumpkins, etc. etc.
etc. It never let us down once. I’m going to miss it. It’s in tip top shape and as described and
ready for a good new home to make a new owner / family happy. I’m the guy that babied it and drove it
responsibly for the last 5 years every day so if you have any questions…ask
away. AC Blows Cold, Heater works great, etc. All options work unless mentioned. If I missed any ask. I am still driving this mileage will climb and if it goes over 2k more miles, I'll update the picture and description. No shipping but if you want to arrange and pay for, I'll cooperate. All original paint and body panels except for a few touch paint dabs (BTW..touch up paint for correct color included). Thanks, Tony |

2014 Acura MDX priced from $42,290*
Fri, 31 May 2013The fully redesigned 2014 MDX goes on sale in July, and Acura has now confirmed that its largest crossover will be priced at $42,290 (*plus $895 for destination). Unlike previous MDX models, Acura will offer the 2014 model with both front- and all-wheel drive (the automaker's fantastic Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive, at that), and this base price is for the standard, two-wheel-drive MDX model. At the base level, this new pricing represents a $990 decrease over the outgoing, AWD-only 2013 model.
Four trim levels will be offered across the range, all of which use Acura's direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 engine good for 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include things like push-button start, Acura's fancy new Jewel Eye LED headlights, the next-generation AcuraLink system, an eight-inch multi-function display screen, blind spot monitoring and a premium sound system.
Moving up from there, the Technology package ($46,565) gains 19-inch wheels (18s are standard), forward collision warning, lane departure warning, a color TFT display, rain-sensing wipers and more. The Entertainment Package (bundled into one $48,565 model) adds rear seat entertainment to all of that. At the top end, the MDX Advance model gets unique wheels, remote engine start, 12-speaker ELS premium audio, adaptive cruise control and more. Adding Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive to any of these models results in a $2,000 price jump.
Acura may go all AWD in bid to mimic Subaru's success
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Acura's struggles have been well publicized. The Honda-owned luxury brand doesn't seem sure of where it's going or what it's trying to accomplish, with its cars and marketing lacking a coherent theme. Now, a new report from Automotive News claims that the brand could follow the success of Subaru and (to a lesser extent) Audi, and adopt all-wheel-drive as standard across its model range.
"I think that's the way we should go," Acura boss Koichi Fukuo told Automotive News.
Acura already offers some form of all-wheel drive on every vehicle in its line aside from the lamentable ILX sedan. That could change as Acura begins rolling out next-generation versions of its still relatively new stable of sedans and crossovers.
Acura dealer association nabs retiring pitcher Mariano Rivera for New York spot
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Mariano Rivera, considered one of Major League Baseball's best relief and closing pitchers, bought an Acura when he debuted in the major leagues in 1995, and has owned nothing but Acuras since. So it was only natural for the New York Acura Dealers group to strike up a partnership. The fruits of the deal can be seen in the latest New York Acura commercial, called "Legends," which stars Rivera and Acuras new and old. It's narrated by actor Steve Schirripa, who played Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri in HBO's The Sopranos.
"The spots are a nod to Acura's history and the years it overlapped with Mariano's career," says Scott Rodgers, chief creative officer at Tier10, the ad agency that developed the campaign's concept. With the "Legends" campaign, Rivera and the New York Acura Dealers continue a partnership that has provided $800,000 to the pitcher's charity, the Mariano Rivera Foundation.
The hardest part of the commercial was was finding the cars to star in it, according to Douglas Sonders, co-founder of 8112 Studios, the production company that shot the commercial. "Social media saved the day for us," he says. "After days of cold calls and e-mails to all of our contacts, we ended up sourcing everything we needed in 24 hours after asking our online contacts for assistance."
