2006 Acura Mdx Touring Loaded on 2040-cars
Camarillo, California, United States
Selling our 2006 MDX. My wife and I bought the car from my parents in 2012. My father bought it in 2009 with 50k miles. Car now has 160k, but has been well maintained. It runs and drives great. No leaks. I would have no problem driving this car anywhere. It was just taken on a trip from Southern California to Vegas in the heat of the summer with the A/C on with no issues. It also has the DVD entertainment system for the Kids!! (was great on that trip) Over the last year several updates have been made - New struts front and rear, front brakes including rotors, pads, and calipers. Front lower control arm bushings, front & rear swaybar endlinks, and front swaybar bushings. It also received new front CV axles because the boots had torn. The rear pads were replaced recently, and the oil, filter, and transmission fluids have all been changed. When I bought it off my dad, I changed the timing belt, water pump, Iridium spark plugs, Serpentine belt, motor mounts (front, side, and 2 transmission), and lastly a valve adjustment - all at 130k miles. These were recommended items - nothing was wrong with the car. Again, we have had absolutely no issues with this car at all. Only reason for selling is my wife has wanted a Ford Flex for some time and we came across the right deal... So please do not make ridiculous offers. This is a nice car and i'll bet better than most 100k mile cars!!! Car was just waxed and is ready to go. Car is loaded with all the goodies. (Many of which we don't use...) Sunroof, Navigation, DVD entertainment system, CD changer, AWD, Leather seating (3 rows), heated seats, memory seats, 3.5l V6 with 5speed transmission, we added a hitch so we could use our bike carrier and pull a utility trailer (small about 500lbs). I'm sure i'm forgetting something. But car is ready to be seen. No warranty, sold as is. I recommend inspecting the car in person so there are no surprises. The car only needs to be smogged on transfer. It just pasted in April when tags were renewed. I'm happy to make the arrangements or you can negotiate it into the price. Again - no lowball offers. Be serious and contact me if you have questions. I am happy to make this car available to be seen. I may consider trades if you have one of these Hatchback cars: Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Subaru Impreza or 9-2X Terms - I am not a bank, mechanic, car dealer, or psychic. So I cannot make you a loan, mechanically inspect the car, offer advice, or let you know of any future problems this car may have. If you place a bid, best offer, or buy-it-now, the car is sold as is. There is a risk with buying any car sight unseen, and I highly recommend viewing, driving, or inspecting any car before purchase. I've tried to list what I know about the car, but it is possible I may have left something out, it is not intentional and will be your responsibility upon transfer. I am not warrantying this car. Hiring a mechanic may be useful if you are not able to inspect the car yourself, or if you do not have the knowledge or know how to inspect a car. |

Honda S2000, Acura RSX recalled over brake boosters
Fri, 14 Jun 2013Honda has announced a recall that affects two of our favorite, dearly departed cars from the brand's portfolio: the S2000 roadster and Acura RSX coupe. A total of 5,239 S2000 models from the 2006 and 2007 model years are affected by this problem, as are 13,113 2006 Acura RSX models.
"A production error may have allowed brake booster components to be produced outside of the original specifications, potentially causing decreased brake assistance over time, which could increase the risk of a crash," American Honda said in a press release. Thus, dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake booster setups in these vehicles, free of charge.
No crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this brake problem. Honda says the problem was discovered during warranty claim analysis.
Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values
Tue, 18 Mar 2014We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
Ludacris discusses Fast and Furious 7 and his 1993 Acura Legend
Tue, 13 May 2014It's easy to think of most wealthy celebrities as egotistical, materialistic individuals who own a Ferrari for every day of the week. The reality, though, is often much less severe. See, they can get attached to things, like cars, just like normal folks. Take Alfred Morris, for example. A 22-year-old running back with the Washington Redskins. Morris still drives the 1991 Mazda 626 that he had in college, despite a healthy $2.2 million contract.
Rapper/actor Ludacris is an even more extreme example of automotive loyalty. With an estimated net worth of over $70 million, Luda has the money for his own private plane. Yet that wealth doesn't stop him from regularly driving the 1993 Acura Legend he has had since before he found fame.
Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, recently discussed his old Acura during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneris Show to promote his new album. It sounds like he's put 10,000 miles on the trusty sedan since it last popped up online less than a year ago, so it's pretty clear that he drives it on the regular. In fact, Ludacris says he still pens new songs sitting inside it, just like he used to back in the day when he was starting out.
