Edgewater, Maryland, United States

1991 Acura NSX in excellent condition.  Clear title, clean carfax, no accidents, unmolested original vehicle. Up to date maintenance. Water pump and timing belt done about 5 years ago. Mileage is of no issue as it is not a daily driver.  Newer tires (less than 5k).  Well maintained, garage kept.  Runs and drives great.  No issues.  Everything on the car works (except the integrated phone).  Original radio, working power antenna. power windows, locks, seats, AC blows cold.  The MOST reliable exotic car to own. Aftermarket wheels styled from the original CART series nsx. Interior is in great shape.  1 very small crack in the dashboard at the windshield in the center, maybe an inch between vents. Not very noticeable  Interior seats have been replaced and show very minimal wear. light wear on the black shift plate.  Power windows work but are slower than new.  Passenger window is a bit slower than driver window.    Carpet in good shape. Interior is 8/10.  The exterior has had 1 very good quality repaint as indicated by a paint gauge. Most people don't know it was repainted.  They ask how it is in such good shape being a 1991.  Paint is shiny and without issue.  Stone chips on the front of the car have been touched up and don't show until you are closer to the car.  No dents on the car or parts out of alignment.  Shows very good.  Small creases on the front spoiler at the bend on the corners. Unavoidable.  Not broken, but creased.  Exterior is 7.5/10.  Shows well but has had the previously mentioned SMALL stone chips.  Engine compartment is clean and the car runs great with no leaks. No problems from the car.  Again the MOST reliable exotic to own!!    Spare tire is present but old and unreliable (in my opinion).  Tools included in the trunk.  Custom fit cover also included.  Been a great car for the last 2 plus years.  Reason for sale is always wanted one, got it drove it had a great time but there are a lot of other cars I have always wanted and I am selling this to finance the next one.  Garage will only hold a certain number.  If I was Jay Leno I would keep this car and buy all the other dreams, however that is not realistic. Bid to Buy.  No disappointments

2013 Acura ILX 2.4

Thu, 17 Jan 2013

Going Mainstream Has Its Privileges
Acura's experiment with niche models has failed. Competing in the luxury car business by filling white space with product just didn't work for the Japanese automaker. In place of slow-selling models like its ZDX and quirky first-gen RDX, the mindset at Acura has recently switched to more conventional products with vastly improved volume potential. The redesigned 2013 RDX, for example, sold almost as many units in 2012 as it did in 2010 and 2011 combined, and the all-new 2013 ILX has sold more units each month - since going on sale in May - than Acura sold in ZDXs and RLs in all of last year.
While the redesigned RDX is a crucial product to compete with luxury compact crossovers, the ILX might be the most important new product for Acura, as a growing number of premium makes are starting to realize the importance of upscale entry-level compact cars. Ironically, this segment was a pivotal part of the brand's success in the 1980s and '90s thanks to the Integra, but Acura completely abandoned the genre when it killed off the RSX coupe in 2006. The addition of the ILX not only gives Acura a competitive small car again, it also drops the brand's entry price by almost $5,000.

Acura Concept SUV-X is where brand should be going [w/video]

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

We're not saying Acura should off their Concept SUV-X for sale as-is, we're just saying we'd like to see Acuras that are interesting to look at on the outside, rather than just being packed full of technology on the inside. Revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show, the Concept SUV-X joins other compact high-rollers like the MG CS concept as an entrant for China's compact SUV segment.
But this won't be a concept forever. Acura says that the SUV-X is the precursor to a production offering from the brand in China that will come "in about three years." A presser below sheds a little more light on this and the Chinese version of the RLX that will go on sale in a few months, and there's a short video detailing some of the concept's finer points, as well.

2014 Acura MDX shows up exactly as expected

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

Acura (and parent company Honda, for that matter) doesn't always leave a lot to be left to the imagination when they unveil prototypes at auto shows. Case in point: Take a gander at the Acura MDX Prototype that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and then look at the production-spec 2014 MDX pictured above. See what we mean?
Design-wise, there frankly isn't a whole lot to get excited about with this MDX. Sure, a lot of the chiseled, sharp lines from the previous-generation model have been smoothed out in favor of something that will likely have more mass-market appeal, but to our eyes, the MDX has simply lost a lot of its visual flair in the process. To quote Autoblog senior editor Seyth Miersma, this new one just looks like the old one after melting by 10 percent. The end result is something that more closely resembles the company's smaller RDX crossover than anything else, with other subtle design elements mimicking what we've seen on the ILX and RLX sedans. It's all fine, but again, not exciting. The good news, however, is that thanks to the use of new lightweight materials, the 2014 MDX is 275 pounds lighter than the outgoing model.
Updates to what's underneath the MDX's new skin are hardly surprising, but still welcome. Power comes from a direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 making 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with both front-wheel drive and Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive on offer. Acura estimates that front-drive models will achieve 20/28/23 miles per gallon (city/highway/combined), and says that adding the SH-AWD drops those numbers to 18/27/21. Acura will offer a new Integrated Dynamic System that allows the driver to choose between normal, sport and comfort settings, and the new MDX will ride on a choice of either 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels.
