Location:

Durham, Connecticut, United States

Purchased from an Estate Sale of a car collector in 2013.

1977 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce 49 State Non-Catalyst Model.  Has black canvas convertible top.   Also included Parrish Plastics black vinyl hardtop.

Solid, complete original car with the exception of headlight trim rings, clutch slave cylinder.  The spare tile wheel well is rotted and needs replacement.   Body and interior are decent, dash is in good condition, frame is solid and straight, floor pans are solid.  Overall, the car is an excellent restoration candidate.

The driver's side front fender is missing paint as you can see by the photos, small rip in driver's side car seat.  Surface rust in various spots on the body.

All ignition parts were replaced including: distributor cap, rotor, points, plugs, condensers, coil and wires.  Cleaned fuel system, cleaned and treated fuel tank, replaced fuel filters, fuel injector pump belt and filter.  Alternator belt replaced.  Replaced broken cutch pivot pin.

I had the car running in 2013.  It has been sitting in the garage for over a year.  It will crank right over with a fresh battery but does not start.  Due to health issues, this is as far as I can take the restoration.    Includes repair manual, full color wiring diagram, Owner's Manual and several repair and maintenance manuals downloaded from the internet.

I will be happy to answer any and all questions to the best of my ability.  Additional photos of specific items will be furnished upon request.   Send message for phone number to speak to Frank.

Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.  Deposit of $250 required within 24 hours, full payment within 3 days of auction close.  I accept Paypal, Bank Check, Cash.

Fiat set to invest $12B on new models, stop Euro losses in 3 years

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

Naturally, you'd expect a massive automaker like Fiat to have an in-depth plan to exit the current European-market doldrums, and you'd expect that plan to include plenty of new vehicles to attract those precious buyers that still remain despite the financial downturn. And you'd be right, though Fiat does seem to have a few unexpected twists up its corporate sleeve.
Perhaps the biggest shocker is a report that Fiat will completely drop the Punto, a car with mass-market appeal aimed at small-car buyers cross-shopping the popular Volkswagen Polo. Its replacement will be a five-door Fiat 500 aimed at upmarket buyers (sounds awfully similar to the 500L) that will be built in Poland. Lower-end customers will reportedly be served by variants of the Fiat Panda.
Borrowing a page from the BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen playbook, reports Automotive News, Fiat is said to have plans to reignite production at its Italian factories by retooling them to build high-end vehicles from Maserati and Alfa Romeo. These will be marketed as premium products, built by skilled Italian workers (who are paid wages that are 75-percent higher than those building Fiats in Poland), and will be sold around the world.

Alfa Romeo to launch eight new products by 2018, increase sales to 400K units

Tue, 06 May 2014

Alfa Romeo will go back to being the brand people admire, according to CEO Harald Wester.
After a few streams of news on the various brands in the Fiat Chrysler family, here's the deluge we've been waiting for - Alfa Romeo. The legendary Italian brand is being pointed towards a renaissance, as shown by the brand's five-year plan.

Marchionne threatens to move Alfa production out of Italy

Fri, 12 Jul 2013

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne was unsurprisingly frank when asked by reporters about potential investments in Italian manufacturing for Alfa Romeo and Maserati, giving the Italian government the ultimatum, "Italy should decide if they want [Alfa Romeo's relaunch] to happen here or not as Fiat and Chrysler have several alternatives." Them's fightin' words.
Fiat's issue with the government stems directly from its courtroom clashes with the Fiom labor union. The two are currently embroiled in proceedings over longer shifts and shorter breaks, as Fiom has so far refused to sign a new contract citing revised labor laws that it says are anti-union.
According to Bloomberg, Fiat will be spending over $2.5 billion on development of eight new Alfas and six new Maseratis, in a bid to wrest some of the luxury pie away from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. But that's only going to happen if the government is willing to play ball and make life easier on Fiat.
