HELLO THIS IS A 1999 AUDI A6 QUATTRO AS IS NO WARRANTY THAT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION TO IT. LETS START WITH THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. THE LINING AROUND THE SUNROOF NEEDS TO BE REPLACE, THE REAR VIEW MIRROR NEEDS TO BE MOUNTED BACK. THE MIDDLE CONSOLE NEEDS TO BE FIX AND THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW NEEDS WINDOW REGULATORS FOR BOTH SIDES. THE SEATS ARE IN FAIRLY GOOD CONDITION. THE BODY OF THE CAR IS IN SOME WHAT GOOD CONDITION OTHER THAN THE FRONT BUMPER THAT NEEDS TO BE REPAINTED. I'VE HAD THIS CAR SINCE 2005 AND WHEN I BROUGHT IT IT HAD 77,000 MILES ON IT. N0W IT HAS 122658 THAT'S 45658 I PUT ON THIS VEHICLE IN 8 YRS. LOCALLY DRIVEN MAINLY, BACK AND FORTH TO WORK WHICH WAS A 14 MILE TOTAL COMMUTE. AS FAR AS REPAIRS GOES IT NEEDS A CAM SEAL JOB, I JUST HAD THE VALVE COVER GASKETS REPLACE AND WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT I NEED THE CAM SEALS DONE SO IT'S LEAKING A LITTLE OIL AT THIS MOMENT. I WAS ALSO INFORMED BY MY MECHANIC THAT I NEEDED A MASTER CYLINDER RESERVIOR NOT THE WHOLE MASTER CYLINDER. THE BRAKE LIGHT IS ON AND THE ABS LIGHT IS ON THEY NEED TO BE RESET BY THE DEALER BECAUSE I JUST HAD THE ABS SENSOR REPLACED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO ALONG WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. THE LEFT TURN FRONT MARKER ALSO NEEDS SOME ATTENTION I BELIEVE IT'S JUST THE CONTACT, I'M SELLING BECAUSE I WANT SOMETHING NEW. THIS CAR IS STILL STRONG AND HAS PLENTY OF LIFE LEFT. Audi moves to patent electric Quattro and active-shutter wheels
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Audi might have a few tricks up its sleeve for the coming years, with the Brits at Autocar uncovering a pair of patent filings made by the German luxury brand. The first is something we've seen before - wheel flaps - while the second is an evolution of one of Audi's trademark technologies.
We last saw wheel flaps on the Ford Atlas Concept in 2013, but the futuristic fuel-saving tech has so far failed to arrive on a production car. Audi may be seeking to change that, patenting the flaps that open and close automagically based on airflow. They can also open if the brakes get too hot.
The second patent is an evolution of Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive. The new AWD system uses an electrically driven rear axle and wheel sensors to figure out when and at which corner the car might lose traction, and is targeted largely at hybrid offerings, which is a field Audi has only recently dipped its toe into.
Audi working on new Quattro-centric horizontal design language
Wed, 22 Jan 2014If we were to opine that Audi needed a new design language, we certainly wouldn't be the first. Because while most of the vehicles wearing the Four Rings these days look slick enough, they all tend to look rather similar, and perhaps lack a certain amount of character. If the latest rumors are to be believed, Audi is working on just such a design overhaul.
The new design language being developed in the studios at Ingolstadt is said to differ from the current theme in two ways. For one, it's set to be dominated by a more horizontal approach, eschewing the tall vertical grille that dominates the noses of many of Audi's current models in favor of one that stretches more widely across the fascia.
For another, Edmunds projects that the new design language will emphasize the four-wheel-drive setup that has become Audi's hallmark. We understand that to mean more muscular wheel arches, with the rest of the design revolving around that element for an overall look that's more visually planted on the road. We'll have to wait to see how this theme develops, but the rumors at least indicate that Audi is aware of its design issues and is working to address it.
Audi unveils its Doberhuahua Super Bowl commercial
Mon, 27 Jan 2014With Super Bowl Sunday less than a week away, this week is going to be dominated by anything and everything football related. That includes advertising and the auto industry, as some of the biggest players prepare to launch multi-million-dollar spots hawking their latest and greatest products.
A veteran of Super Bowl ads, Audi's history has been rather checkered, ranging from controversial to funny to Jason Statham. We aren't entirely sure where to place this year's ad. The German brand has released a pair of teaser videos on the so-called Doberhuahua, a crossbreed of a Doberman Pinscher and a Chihuahua. Now, we have the full spot.
We get the message Audi is going for - compromise is bad - but delivering it via a slobbery, mutant dog strikes us as trying a bit too hard to be funny.
