Audi A7 Prestige 460hp, 5.5k In Upgrades, Full Led, Side Assist, 20'' Wheels on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
For sale a BEAUTIFUL Audi A7 2012, reason for the sale I got another toy so I have to let this beauty go, Window sticker 70,030 plus the car has 5,500 in upgrades. that include. $2,300 for the AWE exhaust with black diamond tips (cat back so no problems with emissions) and several VAG COM mods that I liked, you can customize different options, for example I like the needle sweep when I start the car, LED stays on with turning lights, LEDS doesn't dim with the headlights, closing/opening the trunk with the remote, Video In Motion (the DVD is viewable while driving for the passengers enjoyment), front side markers cancelled, etc. If you are familiar with Audi performance numbers, you know Audi underrate their cars in an average of 12-13%, when you put them in a dyno, the numbers are higher than advertised, this car stock is really around 350hp (we tested it), with the modifications you get around 110hp more, so this car has around 460hp. Another reason for this, is marketing, Audi uses the same engine in different models but in order to sell the most expensive one, it underrates the power of the cheaper, a perfect example of this is the S7 vs the RS7, they share basically the same engine, but the RS7 is advertised with 560hp vs 420hp of the S7. In reality a S7 has around 480hp but who would buy a RS7 if you can get basically the same car for 30k less, same with the S8 it is advertised at 520hp and Motor Trend got almost 600hp in their test. This car is FAST, the modifications exploited the real power of the V6 3.0T without causing extra stress to the engine nor the transmission (the tiptronic is a ZF 8hp55a capable of a max of 480flbs) , the car has never used in drag racing nor anything like that, I just wanted to have the real power of the engine at the disposal of my right foot. BUT I did use an app to test the car and I got the following numbers 0-60mph 4.13s, 0-100mph 9.56s, 1/4 mile 12.47s @114.91mph (pics attached) This is a video of a stage 2 Audi S4 vs Mercedes CLS63 AMG, the A7 is heavier but still you can have an idea of the power of the GIAC Stage 2 tune. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07izgzafIwQ I am not by any means a "fast and furious" type of guy, but I am a car enthusiast and I like that cars drive optimally, the mods are based in good taste and towards improving performance and fun to drive, the car is a sleeper, you cannot tell of the car's potential until you drive it, the only visual difference against a stock one is the Eibach springs drop and the AWE exhaust tips (the very last picture shows a wheel before the drop, so you can compare vs the others) the V6 3.0T supercharged engine is one of the best engines that Audi has produced, this video shows how a tuned S4 goes against a RS4, and this is one in particular is just a Stage 1 , the Stage 2 along with the intake and the exhaust is even faster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KfMY96v_Gc why de-tune an engine instead of getting the most out of it? simple, marketing, just like the S7 vs RS7 example, who would pay more for a RS4 if the S4 is as fast with a proper tune, but Audi is not the only one who does this, Mercedes did it with the C63 AMG, the first generation of this car was detuned 67 hp less than the older "brothers" E, CL, CLS, S, it is not good marketing to have the cheapest of the line to outrun the flagship of the brand. The AWE exhaust is one of the most beautiful sounds, it sounds like a throaty V8, no cabin drone, no excessive noise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi1keWsEjeg This car is as fast as a S7 but more nimble because it is lighter, and at 155mph you can say goodbye to the S7 because the car is not limited (speed governor removed) (the A7 stock is limited at 130mph) Besides all the modifications the car is 100% street legal and emissions in CA, no problems with smog testing nor anything (although is not required until 2018) the car is under warranty, no TD1 code nor anything like that, the car is serviced at the Audi dealer all the time and they are aware of the modifications with no problem. I can strip the car of all the extra equipment and put it back to stock, but I really think somebody can enjoy this car as it is and get all the extra equipment for a fraction of the cost, if you drive this car you will fall in love with it. Writing this ad I am getting more and more sellers remorse, but it is not fair for the car to be parked there, I have other 3 vehicles and I will not be using it that often. The car is paid and clear title in hand, I know the asking price is a little above what other A7s are selling, but the upgrades are worth it, serious and fair offers will be considered, low ballers please do not waste my time and I will not waste yours, this car is meant for a final car enthusiast not for a dealer to make money out of it, I reserve the right to withdraw the ad at any time if I change my mind about selling it. The car comes with all the stock parts, and a pair of two extra yokohama sport tires that I never installed. Please feel free to ask me anything I will gladly answer your questions. Happy new year. |

Audi revisits Ahab on desert island paradise in new ad
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Well, call us Ishmael. Long ago (okay, about eight months), Audi debuted an ad during the NFL playoffs called "Ahab." It showed a salty tow truck driver and his years of catches. During that time, one particular car eluded and haunted him - a white Audi A6, whose Quattro all-wheel-drive system had no issues with the inclement conditions.
Now, there's a sequel that has Ahab, not dead and not missing any legs, on a tropical island. What he doesn't realize, though, is that the white whale (which, Audi, if you're going to associate an animal with a luxury sedan, a whale isn't the best choice) has followed him. Take a look at chuckle-worthy spot below, and then click over and see the spot that started it all from back in January.
24 Hours of Le Mans an on-and-off love affair
Mon, 24 Jun 2013There was little usual about this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans - intermittent rain in the weeks before the race meant cars didn't get on track as much as they wanted, and intermittent rain during the race meant cars went off track a lot more than they wanted. The race started with a wet track, and one of the records broken because of the random downpours was the number of times the safety car led the field - 11 times this year - although the record of two hours and 53 minutes of lapping behind the safety car, set in 2011, was not eclipsed.
None of that served to dampen the action. With little more than an hour left in the race there were cars still only a few seconds apart fighting for position, leads still changing because of pit stops and everyone drafting anyone they could.
Things didn't go the usual way up front, either - well, not exactly...
Audi first to bring LTE to the car later this year
Tue, 30 Jul 2013It appears Audi will be the first to market with in-car LTE service later this year. We knew that BMW was working on LTE integration last year with its ConnectedDrive, and we've been told that, by the end of 2015, most General Motors products will have it, but LTE can be ordered on the S3 Sportback (pictured) as soon as July. Other models in the A3 line-up will add the option in November.
Inserting an LTE-enabled SIM card into the Audi's MMI navigation will make the S3 a WLAN hotspot that can quickly shuffle high-definition content from the cloud to the cockpit. It will also bolster Audi Connect services like Google Earth, Facebook and Twitter, e-mail, and streaming internet radio.
We've been told that we'll be offered the LTE option when the 2015 A3 sedan gets here in the spring of 2014. Since the service requires you to provide a SIM card, we expect that costs and data caps will be a matter between you and the service provider; speaking of which, Audi hasn't announced yet who that provider will be on this side of the Atlantic. The press release below has more details.
