Reliable and loaded 2002 Audi A8L. The car has all options including heated back seat, heated steering wheel + navigation. The transmission is rebuilt. All 4 Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires were recently replaced at a cost of over $1100. The timing belt and battery have also been replaced recently. The black leather interior looks / smells great and shows very little signs of wear. The headliner is very tight and secure. The engine runs beautifully and the trans shifts perfectly. It is a pleasure to drive this car around town or on the highway. It gets 27-28mpg on the highway. It has more leg room in the back than any car I have ever driven. I tried to take pictures of any cosmetic flaws on the car. There is 1 ding on the passenger's front door. The trim for the fog lights is missing as well as the trim for the passenger's rear door at the bottom. The car is being sold as is with no warranty. I am selling it because I found an '02 S8 and I can't keep both. The car is in Cherry Valley IL 61016 about an hour and a half from Chicago.You are welcome to come and inspect the vehicle before the auction ends. There are no dealer fees or hidden costs. Audi A3 E-Tron is a look at battery-operated things to come
Tue, 05 Mar 2013Audi officially unveiled the A3 Sportback E-Tron at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. While not a production model, the plug-in hybrid gives us a good glimpse at what the German automaker has in store for future products. The five-door gets around thanks to parallel hybrid drivetrain comprised of a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a small electric motor integrated into the vehicle's six-speed dual-clutch transmission. While the four-cylinder churns up 150 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, the motor contributes 100 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of twist. All told, the design allows the E-Tron to serve up its full power from just 1,750 rpm.
An 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery sits under the floor beneath the rear seat, complete with a liquid cooling system designed to keep the pack in its optimum temperature range. The A3 Sportback E-Tron can be charged in as little as 2.5 hours with a 3.6-kW charger, yielding an EV range of up to 31 miles. The machine can also travel using the electric motor, ICE or a combination of the two for a total range of 584 miles. Check out the full press release below.
Audi builds 3-millionth A3
Sun, 21 Jul 2013About a month after Volkswagen celebrated building its 30-millionth example of the Golf, Audi has announced that it has produced three million versions of its small hatchback, the closely related Audi A3. Probably more surprising than the fact that the A3 has moved in such big numbers since its global debut in 1996 is the fact that it has done so with relatively little support in the US, seeing marginal sales in the States since 2005.
The three-millionth A3 was a Sportback TDI model, but the lineup has grown this year to include a new sedan and S3 model, and the hybrid A3 E-tron is on the way. With these new models - especially the sedan in the US - we expect the A3 to continue to be a popular entrant in the premium small segment. Scroll down for Audi's official press release.

Sat, 08 Feb 2014European auto writers, especially the British, have a bit of a reputation for favoring their own domestic cars over foreign rivals in comparison tests. Just think about how many times you've heard Jeremy Clarkson deify the latest product of UK loins while denigrating an American rival as a hopeless "Yank Tank." However, we have to tip our hats to the folks at Autocar because in its latest video comparing the 2014 Corvette Stingray to the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type V8 S and Audi R8, it's actually given the Vette a fair shake.
Autocar has put the Stingray through a battery of tests against what it considers to be the three best sports cars on sale in Europe today. And while the tests that it has chosen are somewhat random and subjective, it has concluded that the C7 can stand up against its rivals, even irrespective of its price. It's one thing to hear about how great the Stingray is from American writers, but it's great to know that not all Brits think we've gone crazy for calling the new Chevrolet "exquisite."
