Selling my Mom's baby - 1997 Audi A4 Cabriolet Convertible Sport PREMIUM PACKAGE - PRICED TO MOVE
THE ONLY BAD: -Stereo has anti-theft mode and is on SAFE mode right now after we replaced the battery. Dealer wants to charge $150 to get it unlocked but I would rather replace the head unit to a newer updated system. My Mom is the 2nd owner - non smoker and always kept in the garage. Styling is very classy and a real head-turner, perfect for the summer. Only selling because my Mom is 75 years she recently bought a new 2014 Subaru Impreza and no longer have room for another car so the Audi needs a new home right now. Book Value of the car as it sits is $6,500. Priced to sell at $5,000 You won't find a better looking 1997 Audi Cabriolet around guaranteed Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping or pickup of the car Email me if you have any questions or would like to see the car in person. Take the lid off of this car. With its top down, the 1997 Audi
Cabriolet attracts a lot of envious attention, as it exudes subtle style
and sophistication. The Audi Cabriolet comes with a hefty pricetag, 1997 Cabriolet, choosing instead to offer the power top and leather trim in a Premium Package that adds in sport-style seating. The rear seat windscreen, that reduces wind interference, is also still optional. Not that you'll be driving this in the winter. This convertible is designed for fun and a high-class driving experience. A 2.8-liter, 172-hp engine and 4-speed automatic transmission cause slow initial acceleration in this heavy car, but once you get up to highway speeds, the Cabriolet is a pleasant cruiser, hitting speeds plenty powerful to de-curl your new perm. The 1997 Cabriolet is smooth and quiet, with very little wind noise when the top is up. Seats are comfortable, complementing the soft suspension and balanced handling. Despite being a convertible, the heavy weight of the car gives it a sturdy, safe feel. The one-touch power top is a must, and the overall style turns heads, according to most drivers. |

Audi A3 supplies tight, model stealing Honda, Toyota sales
Fri, 04 Jul 2014It appears that there was a pent up demand for compact, front-wheel drive German luxury sedans that no one really knew about. Not only has the Mercedes CLA-Class been a success in the US with its Hungarian factory running three shifts to keep up, but the Audi A3 Sedan is doing quite well, too, after just three full months on the market.
Audi of America recently announced that the compact sedan shifted 2,452 vehicles in June and 7,735 units of the A3 since the beginning of the year. Not only are they selling; it's the people buying them that's important. According to Audi USA spokesperson John Schilling speaking to Autoblog, "A little over 25 percent of A3 buyers in April were 30 years or under." That's compared to about 18 percent for the A4, he said. Company executives also recently told Edmunds that many of those new customers are brand conquests turning in Honda or Toyota models. We gently mocked Audi when it held A3 Sedan launch parties aimed at hipsters that served craft beer and played indie music, but the marketing worked, apparently.
That said, if you're in the market for an A3, you might have not be able to get one immediately. According to Edmunds, some customers are on a waiting list for the compact luxury sedan. Although, Schilling said that's because Audi is still stocking dealers. "It's a little leaner than other models, but that's mainly because it's new and still ramping up," he said.
Audi claims America unfairly pushes electrics over diesels, backed by survey
Fri, 15 Nov 2013Audi, in case you haven't noticed, is quite committed to diesel technology. It champions oil burners in both the racing world and to consumers, offering American customers a total of five diesel-powered models, which is more than any brand in the US market save for its parent company, Volkswagen. In a bid to prove that diesels aren't some passing trend and are actually gaining momentum in the US, Audi commissioned Harris Interactive to conduct a poll of 1,600 American drivers, to see how they felt about diesel power. The resulting statistics are rather surprising.
57 percent of the 1,629 drivers surveyed think the government has unfairly favored hybrids and electrics over diesel power
65 percent of drivers support laws being passed to make diesel more accessible, while 66 percent support tax incentives for diesel-powered vehicles
Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
