2008 Bmw 335 335i Base Convertible 2-door 3.0l ***no Reserve*** on 2040-cars
Nokesville, Virginia, United States
Gorgeous car in great condition. Runs flawlessly, everything works exactly as it should. The turbo motor has a great sound. Tires are new, just recently installed Pirelli P Zero Neros. Brakes were done on all four wheels about six months ago. The red leather interior is immaculate, no rips, tears, or marks. A beautiful color combination, it looks particularly great with the top down.
Two minor flaws on the paint. As you can see from the picture on the front of the car, the driver's side air dam has a large number of chips. The gray you see is the primer. The air dam is not damaged, just paint chips due to small, normal road debris hitting it over time. Also, on the driver's side rocker panel, there are two small scratches on the lower side of the rocker panel. They are no deep and not that noticeable. I have owned this car for two years and the only thing it has needed is regular maintenance. Nothing has ever failed to work. I have this car listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to terminate this auction and cancel all bids if the car sells before this auction ends. |

BMW-Toyota sports car heading towards Tokyo debut
Mon, 20 May 2013Earlier this year, BMW and Toyota confirmed a four-part joint venture mostly focusing on increasing improving vehicle efficiency using fuel cells, lightweight materials and better battery technology. Also tucked into the announcement was a "feasibility study" for a shared platform to underpin a future midsize "sports vehicle."
In terms of the latter, it seems that things have stepped up from the feasibility stage to the conceptual stage, as Motor Trend reports we could see a pair of new sports car concepts debut later this year in at the Tokyo Motor Show. There isn't much information about the new program, but the article suggests the sports cars could be all-wheel drive hybrids, with electric motors powering the front wheels and a gas engine powering the rear wheels. While a partnership between Toyota and BMW might not lend itself to a catchy portmanteau like "Toyobaru," here's hoping it will bear fruit that is as exciting as the ones produced by the Toyota/Subaru tie up.
BMW makes X7 in Spartanburg official
Fri, 28 Mar 2014BMW has made it official - there will be a flagship crossover called X7, and it will be built right here in the US of A. The announcement was made today, confirming rumors of the new model at the Spartanburg, SC factory that broke earlier this week.
"Plant Spartanburg was built to enhance and expand the BMW lineup, underscoring the BMW Group commitment to the United States" said Dr. Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the BMW board of management in a statement. "In addition to the X3, X5, X6, and the new X4, we are today announcing another all-new, larger X model to be manufactured exclusively at this plant for our world markets: the X7."
BMW will spend $1 billion by 2016 upgrading its South Carolina factory, which already produces the X3, X5 and X6. The plant is currently capable of producing 300,000 units per year, but with the big investment from BMW, capacity will climb to 450,000 units. 800 jobs will be added as a result of the investment and new and upcoming models.
BMW Vision Gran Turismo takes M235i Racing to the virtual extreme [w/videos]
Wed, 14 May 2014Late last year, Mercedes-AMG worked up a concept car called the Vision Gran Turismo. It presented it at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but that wasn't the point: the point was that it would feature in Gran Turismo 6 on the PlayStation 3. It wasn't the first concept created specifically for the popular driving simulator - following similar projects by Citroën and Red Bull Racing - and as we reported just a month later, it wouldn't be the last. What we have here is the next.
Looking like an even more extreme version of the M235i Racing, the BMW Vision Gran Turismo concept builds on "the tradition of the successful BMW touring cars of the 1970s" in a heart-pumping, if unfortunately strictly virtual form. It's got more extreme aero than the aforementioned M235i Racing and a striking take on the M division's signature light blue, dark blue and red stripe over white livery.
Underneath the digital bonnet sits the same 3.0-liter inline six as the M235i, but pumping out a prodigious (if theoretical) 549 horsepower - far more than the 333 hp in the actual Racing version or the 320 hp in the roadgoing model. Of course BMW has given it an ideal 50:50 front-rear weight distribution and a curb weight of 2,600 lbs - nearly a thousand pounds less than the roadgoing M235i.
