Mohrsville, Pennsylvania, United States

1994 BMW 525 I Five speed manual transmission sedan with only 124xxx miles. Two owner car. I have owned and driven this car for years. The classic front engine rear drive platform makes for a very enjoyable ride. As the ads say BMW's are "The Ultimate Driving Machine".  A 5 series BMW sits low and rather wide and is not exactly a light car for its size. Handling is awesome and because it is a five speed the gas mileage is really great. It is a road holding stable car that handles like a sports car and looks like something out of a mid nineties European spy movie.
In normal driving I get 25 mpg and on trips I always exceed 30 and more! This car had a selling price of $36,965.25 when it sold new in 1994. I have all the original paperwork to prove it.  Own it for 1/10th of that.
Included with this sale are eight matching BMW original alloy wheels. All the wheels have tires, some are Cooper WeatherMasters.

I will attempt to list some of the amenities:
BMW computer shows average mpg temperature trip and rally stats range etc
ABS Braking System
Traction Control
Tilt Steering Wheel
Heated Leather Power Leather Seats
Leather interior
Power Moon Roof
Zonal air conditioning/heating including back passenger vents
Six CD Factory AM/FM Stereo Sound System
Heated intermittant windshield washers wipers
Rear window defroster
Heated Power Side Mirrors
Power Windows
Rear Window Defroster
Driving lights
Zenon headlights
Cruise Control
Factory installed AT&T Analog Corded Car Phone (a non working conversation piece :)
Alloy Wheels ( Eight Matching BMW Alloy Wheels (with tires) are included with this sale!)
Wood Grain Interior accents
BMW tool kit
Original Owners manuals and a ton of paperwork showing maintenance receipts from day one etc.
Clear PA title in my name. PA state inspected/emissions till April 2015.
All sorts of fairly recent stuff was done...new struts, brakes, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, spark plug boots, air cleaner, oil filter, on and on...

Everything works. Car was well maintained and is a drive anywhere vehicle. A/C blows ice cold. Heater is great. Rear window defroster works fine. All power accessories work. Car is ready to drive cross country if you so desire. No leaks no smoking.

Please read this....car is sold as is/ where is. This is a 20 year old BMW 525I. Even though it only has about 125,000 miles on it it is an older vehicle and you should bid accordingly. Please do not bid if you have questions...ask me and I will h o n e s t l y  answer you.  I encourage personal inspections. Car is in Berks County PA about 60 miles NW of Philly. I have a 100% positive eBay rating and I intend to keep it. I will accept cash. Cash is good. If you win and want it shipped you will arrange the carrier. I will give the carrier the car the keys the title and a bill of sale ONLY after the funds are securely in my hands.

Negatives are.... once again the car is 20 years old. There are some dings and dents. Back in May we had a wicked hailstorm that destroyed thousands of cars here. My BMW got a few minor dings from this. My area received only mothball size hail. The few dings are relatively minor. I mention this only so that you are aware.
The black paint really needs to be refreshed. A good polish and wax job would help but truth be told a decent Maaco paint job would really go a long way for not a lot of money. We'll let you decide. Also as is common with these BMW's the "Low Coolant" light comes on when you start the car, then goes out shortly thereafter. The coolant level is always fine. The problem is a sensor that you really do not want to mess with. The light goes out when you drive off...no biggie...My mechanic says leave it be. Once again please keep in mind that this BMW has LESS THAN 125000 documented original miles on it. That is 6250 miles per year average  (125000 miles divided by 20 years equals 6250 miles per year!)

Car is sold as is/where is. For sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early.

On Sep-21-14 at 14:27:23 PDT, seller added the following information:

Sunday Sept 21, 2014 at 5:15 PM  Quick (good) revision....

Included in this sale are actually TEN (yes 10!) BMW alloy wheels. Eight wheels are perfect matches to the original ones you see in the photographs of the car in this auction. All eight include center caps also. Four wheels have great tires on them, four have rather worn tires on them. The extra two BMW rims/tires that I found in the garage today are also alloys but they do not match the year and/or style of the eight mentioned above. The bolt pattern is the same but the style is older I believe.  All are yours if you win the auction. Not pictured in the auction are also the original front and rear BMW floor mats. They need a good cleaning but are not bad for being 20 years old. Of course they also are included with the sale.
PLEASE WRITE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. I WILL BE AVAILABLE ON MONDAY AFTERNOON IF ANYONE LOCAL WANTS TO SEE AND DRIVE THE CAR PRIOR TO THE AUCTION ENDING OM MONDAY EVENING.
Thank you for visiting my auction.

The List: The Red BMW - A Retrospective

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

We can't help but use this time of year to look back at the days before and reminisce about friends who are no longer in our lives. For The List, Jessi and Patrick were often joined by a little, red BMW 3 Series that, at times, felt like a third host of the show. Having been bought used for just a thousand bucks, the red BMW proved to be surprisingly durable. Through jumps, dunks and monster trucks, it remained our little trooper 'till the very end, and on the way taught us all how important a faithful four-wheeled companion is to the life's work of completing one's automotive bucket list.
For our last episode of The List in 2013, we give you The Red BMW - A Retrospective.

2014 BMW R NineT

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

BMW is taking a page from the Harley-Davidson playbook with its groundbreaking R NineT. A retro cafe racer with an urban hooligan twist, the bike is fully customizable from fork to exhaust. Of course, any motorcycle can be customized, but the fact that BMW has built its newest bike to encourage modification using parts that can be swapped with simple tools is a radical move for a motorcycle maker best known for its plug-and-play touring bikes.
To underscore exactly how radical, BMW has even partnered with custom heavy-hitter Roland Sands Design, which developed the initial concept for the bike and is now manufacturing a full line of parts and accessories for the R NineT, including radial valve covers ($950), retro racing saddles ($400-$420), radial gauge housing ($400) and a radial headlight bezel ($250), among other things, all of which can be swapped with a socket wrench or screwdriver instead of a hacksaw, wire cutters and TIG welder.
Alas, the bike I tested for two weeks was stock, so consider it a blank canvas.

BMW planning Zhi Nuo Chinese sub-brand, may export models

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Automakers continue to pour big money into the developing market that is China, and new sub-brands born of joint ventures with domestic partners crop up on what seems like a weekly basis. The latest? According to reports, BMW and its Chinese ally Brilliance are forming a new sub-brand called Zhi Nuo ("The Promise") that will likely rely on existing or older BMW products as a basis for new models.
Previous reports had indicated that the sub-brand could build its offerings based on an older 3 Series model (presumably the E90 series), but newer rumors have the X1 crossover (shown) factoring in. The Zhi Nuo brand could receive its official unveiling as soon as later this month at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Perhaps most interestingly, Automotive News Europe reports that the automaker's ambitions for Zhi Nuo may extend beyond China's borders. It's not clear what markets BMW may be eying, but executives admit the company hasn't ruled out Europe.
