You are viewing a excellent example of this 1988 BMW 635 Csi coupe. The car was owned by a brother and sister since 1992 and has only traveled 87,921 miles since new. The black paint is in exceptional condition and I believe its still all original. The tan leather interior is pristine in every way. The leather seats are soft and supple and show no wear or discoloration. The leather headliner also is in perfect condition. Carpets are clean and perfect and it comes with bmw floor mats. The dash is Pristine . Not one crack at all this is very rare for these cars. The door panels are in excellent condition as is the center console and rear speaker shelf. Inside you will find a rear shade for the rear window. All the power equipment works like its suppose too, power sunroof, windows, cruise, and power mirrors and power seats with 2 position memory.  The car is Original in every way . It has the original radio with power antenna and both work perfectly. The dash cluster is pristine with bright white needles and the black guages are not discolored. The car still has its Original R 12 Ac . The compressor does engage but it is low on freon. I do not have any sources here in Wi to get some so I left it alone. No reason to convert it. R12 is still out there and very cold over the 134 A system. Mechanically the car is perfect. She had alot of work done to it in the last 6 k miles. It has all new front suspension including upper and lower control arms and bushings. It has a brand new exhaust from the cat back. This service was ovr $1700 alone. Also she had the car fully tuned up 3 k miles ago which includes , new cap and rotor , new plugs , new timing chain cover and tensioner . The oil was always changed every year which was less then 2 k miles. She kept the car in a garage its whole life and it never seen a winter or rain. The car was bought at Zimbrick Bmw in Madison Wi, They serviced it there and also at a independent bmw service place in Sun Prairie Wi. The car was detailed on a regular basis and it shows. The paint is so shiny and has nearly no imperfections its amazing. No dents , no major scratches no swirl marks. She also put on brand new 16" TSW wheels with new tires . They have about 9 k miles on them . I have the Original TSX wheels in the trunk with matching spare that was never used. The wheels are in excellent conditon . I put on new trunk and hood emblems to make the car look perfect. new BMW stickers on the TSW wheels. I also put on brand new Rear Rotors and pads. The fronts are in excellent condition. The engine starts right up and is as smooth as silk. It has monster power and has no leaks whatsover. It still has the original coating on the intake manifold and valve cover . All the hoses are soft and not dried up. It has the original hood pad which is still perfect. All the original stickers are in the engine compartment and clear to read as do all the doors and trunk have the vin stickers in them. No accidents on this car it has a perfect auto check. The Automatic transmission shifts so smooth its amazing. It also has the sport dial mode for sport , economy and 321 and it all works perfect. She just had the transmission fluid and filter changed at 86k miles. New battery , and tires were rotated and balanced. As you can see I am trying to be very detailed about this car and its history . Many people have concerns and want a great car and no suprises . Well this is that great car. I have had a few e 24 cars. So I know about the rust issues around the front winshield and rear window and rear wheels . there is no RUST anywhere . Whoever buys this car will be truly buying a classic BMW that will last a life time. Its always been pampered and I hope the next person does the same. I just spent $150 dollars having the car detailed so its ready to go and be enjoyed. It comes with original tool kit in trunk that is complete. Full size spare that was never used. 4 original wheels and caps and jack. I have the books , service history in a folder thats a inch thick , 3 Bmw keys with original leather key case. Please read my feedback as I take pride in selling Amazing cars. I am very proud to offer this car for sale and I am truly hoping it will go to a good home . BMW expects China to pass US as its top market in 2013

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

When you combine two billion citizens, 100 cities with more than a million inhabitants and an economy that's as unrestrained as Jim Cramer on an Adderall binge, China's explosive auto industry growth shouldn't be a huge surprise. Audi already lists the communist country as its largest market, while Mercedes-Benz is expecting it to be there in the next few years. Now, according to a report from Automotive News, BMW is expecting the People's Republic to overtake the United States in sales by the end of 2013.
We already discovered the extent that BMW is going to in establishing a dedicated Chinese stronghold, when we explored BMW's Shanghai-based DesignWorks studio ahead of April's Shanghai Motor Show. And while we argued that DesignWorks Shanghai hasn't really borne fruit, it isn't due to a lack of sales.
BMW China has seen a 16-percent jump in year-over-year sales, lead by a 28-percent gain in 5 Series sales. Part of BMW's growth strategy comes from an ever-expanding dealership network. Remember those 100 cities we mentioned with over one million people? According to Karsten Engel, CEO of BMW's Chinese operations, those 100-million-plus city dwellers don't have access to a premium dealership.

BMW i3 gets official worldwide

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Even though we recently drove a near-production version of the BMW i3, the car still wore light exterior and interior camouflage. Today, BMW took off that little bit of camo and made a big announcement: The i3 will go on sale in the US for $41,350 in the second quarter of 2014. That does not include any state or federal incentives that could lower the price or the $925 destination fee. The i3 will debut with three trim levels, which BMW is referring to as Worlds: Mega (standard in the US), Giga and Tera.
The BMW i3 is chock-full of new technology afforded by its design as an EV from the start of development, which has resulted in a vehicle layout unique to the i3. BMW has named it LifeDrive architecture, and it features the Life Module and the Drive Module. The Life Module is the i3's pillar-less passenger cell, which is the first mass-produced monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The tougher-than-steel material is also 30-percent lighter than aluminum, which contributes to the i3's relatively light weight of 2,700 pounds (preliminary US figure) and, in turn, increases its energy efficiency. Expect more of this technology to find its way into future BMWs.
The Drive Module, a 100-percent aluminum chassis mounted under the Life Module, houses everything that makes the i3 go. It includes the 22-kilowatt, 450-pound lithium ion battery mounted as centrally as possible, and provides power to a rear-mounted electric motor that turns the rear wheels. With 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque from zero rpm, the single-gear i3 can accelerate from 0-30 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and 0-60 mph in about 7.0 seconds, but it has a top speed of only 93 mph. BMW says the i3 has a real-world EV range of 80-100 miles, and the standard charger can fill the battery in three hours. Opt for the SAE DC Combo Fast Charger and 30 minutes is all it takes for a full charge; 20 minutes will bump the battery to 80 percent. For customers who have range anxiety, BMW gives them the option to install a 34-hp, 650cc two-cylinder generator as a range extender for the electric drive system.

Next-generation BMW 5 Series spied in Touring trim

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

It almost seems as if BMW just started selling the current-generation 5 Series, yet one of our spy photographers has already spotted a next-generation prototype in Touring form. Little is known about the luxury wagon in this early stage of testing, but it is expected to weigh much less than the current car, which, in 528i Touring guise with an automatic transmission, tips the scale at over 3,800 pounds. It is also expected to have the latest in driver-assistance technology. Despite the weight savings, and judging from the photos, it looks to have proportions similar to the current car, but don't expect the makeshift headlight and taillight clusters to make it onto the production model.
The crucial question for potential Touring customers in the United States is whether BMW will do the unexpected and import it here. The company's track record indicates that it will be sold in Rest of World markets only, but we're hoping that the next 5 Series will end the Touring's U.S. hiatus (and the 5 Series Gran Turismo's reign), which began in 2003 at the end of the E39 generation.
