up for auction is a 2003 bmw 745i with 109k miles. the 7 was bought about a year and a half ago and has been in storage since I have owned it.I am selling for parts/project due to me not knowing the condition of the engine and transmission.their was an odometer discrepancy at some point which you can see in the car record screenshots. the body is in solid shape with dings and scratches here and there as well as a hacked bondo job on the driver side which looks like it needs to  be sanded down.I have only been able to give the car a jump which proved that all interior components work sunroof, windows, radio, dash etc.. the leather seats are in decent condition and all interior parts are there.I purchased a driver side headlight off of ebay a while ago im not sure it the light works but the seller claimed it did. As for what the car will need from what I can see is a passenger headlight(driver side too maybe) driver side mirror alternator, water pump(came with the car not sure if it works) front sway bar(bought one on ebay just needs to be installed) and assembly of the radiator/ac as well as a few hoses and lines replaced power steering and and little body work. This car is being sold as is where is. any questions please ask before bidding. please note!!! bidders with under 10 feedback please contact before bidding......bidders with 0 feedback will be rejected.

On Apr-27-14 at 13:01:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

up for auction is a 2003 bmw 745i with 109k miles I purchased about a year and a half ago on here on ebay. The previous seller was from Mississippi and the car was located in a lot in New York so getting info on the cars history from him was a bit of a dead end.  all I can go on is what is provided in the the history report(screen shots provided)but from what I was told  the car was just stripped of parts.

Picture #1 is the car now in storage pics # 2 & 3 are pics of the car taken from whatever resources the previous owner used to post the car on ebay.
The car has been in a storage garage since purchased and due to my storage restrictionsI have not been able to work on to the car to see exactly what is wrong with it which is why I am selling for parts/project.the condition of the engine and transmission are unknown and I originally purchased with the intentions of giving it a 06-08 facelift.their was an odometer discrepancy at some point which you can see in the car record screenshots.

The body is in solid shape with dings and scratches here and there as well as a hacked bondo job on the driver side which looks like it needs to  be sanded down.I have only been able to give the car a jump which proved that all interior components work sunroof, windows, radio, dash etc.. the leather seats are in decent condition and all interior parts are there.

I purchased a driver side headlight, front bumper, brake lines and a font and rear sway bar off of ebay a while ago im not sure if the light works but the seller claimed it did.I also have an 06-08 front bumper and a pair of 06-08 headlights available if the buyer is interested in a facelift  project

As for what the car will need from what I can see is a passenger headlight(driver side too maybe) driver side mirror, brakes(the car is currently parked with the E - brake) an alternator, water pump(came with the car not sure if it works) front sway bar(needs to be installed) and assembly of the radiator/ac  as well as a few hoses and lines replaced the power steering needs attention (maybe rack and pinion) a few rusty hoses and ilines replaced and little body work. This car is being sold as is where is and should be considered a parts/project vehicle. any questions please ask before bidding. please note!!! bidders with under 10 feedback please contact before bidding......bidders with 0 feedback will be rejected

BMW and Samsung team up with Galaxy Gear smartwatch that talks to your i3

Sun, 12 Jan 2014

Without a doubt, the most impressive thing that BMW showed at CES this year was a driverless M235i drifting flawlessly around a wet track at Las Vegas Speedway. However, that bit of robotic helmsmanship wasn't the only trick the German company had up its sleeve. Or, more to the point, on its wrist.
Taking a page from rival Mercedes-Benz, BMW demonstrated how a "smartwatch," in this case the Samsung Galaxy Gear, could be made to function usefully with a vehicle, in this case the BMW i3. Calling it a "research application," BMW showed off its BMW i Remote App on the Galaxy Gear; the app gives information about state of battery charge, available range and whether or not all the doors and windows are closed or open. Perhaps more useful still, the watch can be used to send a destination to the i3's navigation unit, adjust the climate control in preparation for a trip and can recognize voice commands. Nifty stuff, if not world-shaking, that could help tech-obsessed luxury buyers take a second look at the upcoming BMW EV.
Take a closer look at the watch in action below, or read thru the BMW press release.

Watch man destroy his M6 'lemon' with a sledgehammer and ax

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Just to be clear, the owner of this BMW M6 isn't ready for another one. He and his friend destroyed the V10-powered coupe in anger at the entrance to the Frankfurt Motor Show in a decidedly public fashion. Bild and GT Spirit report that the owner was angry over mysterious quality and reliability issues that he claims BMW wasn't able to fix. What we have here, folks, is claimed to be a very expensive lemon.
As the story goes, owner Pourmohseni Hadi bought the 2007 M6 in 2008, and five years later, he is still complaining about mysterious vibrations, rattles and severe jolts during gear changes - the latter he says have caused passengers to become nauseous. The car was taken to several BMW repair shops in Italy and Hadi says he he has written a letter to the automaker about his issues, but the car was never fixed and the letter unanswered, he claims. What we don't know is how many miles the car has been driven and when all these problems started happening. The situation reminds us of a certain Lamborghini Gallardo from a couple years back.
While we understand Hadi's frustration, perhaps an M6 just doesn't suit his tastes. After all, we'd be lying if we said a perfectly functioning M6 of this generation wasn't bumpy over uneven surfaces and wouldn't make some passengers nauseous, with its stiffly sprung suspension and dizzying 500-horsepower V10. Anyone wanna bet his M6 was equipped with one of BMW's notoriously abrupt SMG single-clutch gearboxes?

2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe now more expensive than when new

Sun, 06 Apr 2014

At the end of the day, your friendly Autoblog editors are car guys, just like you. So, while we might have more of an opportunity to test some of the most interesting vehicles on the new car scene than does your average gear head, we can still be found whiling away those long afternoon hours looking at used cars and thinking about what could be.
Just the other day, we had a vivid reminder about one of our dream cars from the very recent past, the 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe. If you didn't catch it, Michael Harley had a great time testing and reviewing the new Dinan S3-R version of the car, which throws an impressively engineered turbo and suspension tune on a BMW that was damn near perfect out of the box.
In the Comments section of that review, a few savvy Autoblog readers pointed out that our estimated price for a used donor car, set at $50,000, was low. Odd, we thought, as the car retailed for less than $50k ($46,135) when it was new in 2011. So we started checking around.
