Where do I start???!!! This is the greatest car I have ever owned- I LOVE it!!! But its time to upgrade to a
newer model M6 !! OK history of the car- I bought it from a retired FBI agent who spent 45 years on the force.
He bought it from the original owner with just 6000 miles on it. His plan was to retire and tour the country with
his wife until she got ill. So the car sat in his garage and he drove it on Saturdays and averaged 2000 miles
a year. He owned it for 4-5 years then sold it to me 3 years ago. It had 17,000 when i bought it and now it has
22,000. So as you can see, I use it for a weekend toy ONLY!!! It sits in the garage all week and only comes out
if the weather is perfect and if the road is clean!! Both the previous owner and myself took/take it in to the BMW
dealership once a year to have the oil changed and any service done. In addition, Every year I have the dealership
completely detail every inch of the car just like they would if they were going to sell it.
The car is the best driving machine I have ever been in. It is a touring machine that effortlessly glides down the
road at any speed you desire!! The suspension is stiff and responsive, but not rigid where you feel every bump in
the road. The V10 500 HP lopes along at any rate, but if you put your foot down the power surges you ahead quicker
then you can imagine. At 100 you feel like you are doing 50. At 150 the car is solid and planted and doesn't drift
or sway. The transmission is unique in that you can go fully automatic or you can use the flappy pedals on the
steering wheel. This car gets looks and stares everywhere!!
The interior is unique in that very few were ever made with the burgundy leather option!! The leather still smells
new- it is soft and supple and there isn't a mark on it! The Burgundy interior was a $3500 upgrade-
The interior is so plush and comfortable- Power everything- Seats, windows, doors, heated seats, full screen
navigation, XM radio, mirrors, - The carpet is in perfect condition as is the dashboard- Which is stitched
leather. All of the wood paneling is perfect and glossy- No scratches, scrapes, chips, etc.
The paint is perfect!! looks like it came from the showroom!! No scratches, dings, dents- No work HAS EVER been
done to the paint- Well, to the whole car for that matter !!
The condition that you see the car in is how I always keep it!! Its not been cleaned and shined up because Im
selling it- Thats how it always looks !!!
Please inspect under the hood, inside the trunk, the door jambs, etc. and you will see how flawless the car is!!
People are amazed its a 2006!!
Im amazed at how cheap it is!!! I have it listed as an action but if you wish to call me I will take $ 33,500 for
the car!!!
How a 190 MPH, 500 Horsepower, V10- Power everything- One of the best looking cars ever produced can only be worth
$33,500 is beyond me- For that price you can't buy a used Jeep Cherokee- LOL
Im looking to sell it ONLY because I can afford to upgrade to a 2012 model which has more power.
As I said- NO WORK HAS EVER BEEN DONE TO THIS CAR!!! The only thing I have done is change the right front tire- I
had a stupid valet pop it- ZERO damage to the rim since he was going so slow-
Speaking of tires and rims- They are like new- See the picture with the quarter and you see they have tons of miles
left on them!! The rims do not have any curb rash or marks on them- NO ONE BUT ME
DRIVES THIS CAR AND I BABY THE HECK OUT OF IT!! The rotors are massive!! Stopping power is amazing!
You cannot see it in the pictures but the entire from of the car has a clear 3M rock and bug coating/guard on it.
You can easily remove it but Ive found its great for keeping the car from getting "road rash" !!
You will NEVER find another M6 in this condition, with this low of miles, that has been maintained and taken care
of like this !!

China probing German automakers over spare parts

Sat, 26 Jul 2014

The Chinese market has proven to be a boon to German luxury automakers. However, the way that the companies have allegedly been controlling their supply of spare parts has begun to draw the ire of the nation's government. According to insiders speaking to Bloomberg, officials from the country's economic planning organization have opened a probe into Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and some Japanese carmakers over claimed price inflation and limiting supply.
Specifically, the investigation centers around two aspects of how the companies do business, according to Bloomberg. Investigators want to know whether the original equipment component makers are able to sell spare parts only to automaker-authorized dealers or if they are also available to independent shops. There is also the issue of whether the price markup on replacement pieces is too high. The tight controls could be partially explained by China's reputation for producing counterfeit parts.
Evidently, the investigators haven't checked parts prices at car dealers elsewhere in the world. At least in the US, paying more at the dealer for factory components just goes along with owning a vehicle. If evidence of price fixing is found, the companies could face fines the equivalent of millions of dollars, according to Bloomberg.

Electrified BMW X1 spotted testing

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

So here's something interesting. This might look like an ordinary BMW X1, but take a closer glance - those stickers on the side read "hybrid test vehicle," and around back, there doesn't appear to be a tailpipe at all. But does this mean that BMW is working on a straight-up all-electric version of its smallest crossover? Let's hypothesize for a moment.
Just because we can't see a tailpipe in these photographs doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere under there. And while those hybrid stickers are an indication that there's some sort of electrification going on underhood, it could just be for a forthcoming gasoline-electric version of the X1. Lexus recently confirmed it would be bringing a small hybrid CUV to market that will compete in the X1's space, so perhaps BMW is working on another powertrain option to offer when its littlest crossover gets refreshed.
Also consider that Toyota collaborated with Tesla to bring back the RAV4 EV, which would sort of compete with the X1, so it also stands to reason that perhaps this is an early test mule for a larger all-electric vehicle in the upcoming, eco-minded BMW i range. Our spies seem pretty confident that the prototype seen here is indeed an all-out EV, but we just can't say with certainty without more evidence.

2015 BMW M3 Sedan

Tue, 20 May 2014

BMW's all-new M3 Sedan is dynamically nearly identical to its two-door M4 Coupe sibling: a stopwatch reveals that both are sub-four-second cars to 60 miles per hour, a racetrack proves that the mechanical twins are equally as adept on a road course and a full afternoon of driving on public roads demonstrates that each possesses talented everyday adaptability.
Yet after driving both BMW models back-to-back over two full days in Portugal, it's clear there are a few noticeable differences, both objective and subjective, that don't require instrument testing to reveal. All it takes is a few hours behind the wheel of both cars to conclude that one is slightly more agile, and the other a bit more twitchy. One has better outward visibility, while its counterpart is unquestionably more convenient.
It is the little things - subtleties attained through seat-of-the-pants observations - that eventually allow me to choose a favorite.
