2009 BMW Z4 Convertible Sdrive35i Blue exterior, cream leather interior7 speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission~65900 miles Exterior in excellent condition, a couple scratches and dings. Leather interior in clean condition. Non-smoker, no pets.Wheels/tires in good condition. No issues with car - engine, transmission, suspension, body, convertible top all in good condition. Regularly maintained at local Bay Area BMW dealers - SF and Peter Pan, and service records are available. Oil changed every 10,000 miles. Recently serviced (June 2016) and air intake received the walnut shell carbon blast service. Passed CA smog inspection about a year ago. BMW working with Dainese to put airbags in motorcycle suits [w/video]
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Addressing the safety concerns of its customers, BMW Motorrad is co-developing a rider suit with Dainese to feature something that's much more common in automobiles: airbags.
Starting with Dainese's D-air Protect System, which is made up of inflatable protectors that deploy in 15 milliseconds, the two companies will integrate the technology into a BMW Motorrad brand, one-piece racing suit, the DoubleR RaceAir. Later a different, street-oriented airbag system that can be retrofitted to bikes will be offered to Beemer riders.
The DoubleR RaceAir is expected to be presented at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November, after all required crash testing has been completed.

BMW maintenance plan no longer transferrable to 2nd owner
Tue, 12 Aug 2014One of the best innovations in car buying in recent years is the rise of no-cost scheduled maintenance programs. Many people feel really anxious about taking their car in for service, and these deals help mitigate that somewhat. Obviously, it's not free for automakers to implement the offers, and now BMW is altering the way its four-year, 50,000-mile Maintenance Program works for some owners. "To keep such an offer sustainable we had to make a change," said Kenn Sparks, Manager of Business Communications at BMW North America, to Autoblog via email.
The original person to buy or lease the model isn't going to see any difference, but the program is no longer transferable to a second owner, unless that person is in the owners household. Those people include includes parents, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren, in addition to someone like a spouse or children. The original owner just has to advise BMW of new user. "The program change will affect 2nd owners and for them BMW is introducing an optional full-maintenance product that covers the vehicle up to 100,000 miles," said Sparks.
