This is a three owner car, purchased new in central Florida near Fort Meade.  No rust in this car ever.  Previous owner lived in Lakeland/Winter Park area and had it for 35 years using it most of the time as their regular car.  I've had it for three.  The car has a new alternator and regulator, four new tires, brakes recently overhauled, front end recently rebuilt, new carpets including trunk, new tan Electron top.  Cruise control partially installed, the rest of the parts come with car.  Factory AM-FM radio works, power antenna on rear fender works, very rare under dash Buick 8-track player works, Factory air condition works and is cold, has remote trunk opener never tried.  Replacement 1970 455 engine rebuilt and installed along with transmission being rebuilt approx 29,000 miles ago.  Car driven 6,000 miles in last three years, runs great.  Paint is single stage and very good, interior is original and very good, engine was detailed when installed but dirty now.  This car is a great driver, it is not a show winning car; although it would show very well in the AACA Driver's Participation Class, meaning it's a 15-footer you wouldn't be ashamed of.  THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, NO WARRANTY GIVEN OR IMPLIED.  NO APPRAISERS EITHER, YOU COME AND INSPECT IT YOURSELF IF AN INSPECTION IS ON YOUR MIND.  IMSPECTION IS WELCOMED, BUT ABSOLUTELY NO APPRAISERS ARE WELCOME HERE.

GM expanding Lansing Lambda CUV plant

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

Considering that crossovers are a rapidly growing portion of the US auto market, it's not surprising to hear that General Motors is preparing to build even more of them. The company is investing $63 million to expand its Lansing Delta Township Assembly plant that builds Lambda platform CUVs like the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.
According to GM, the expansion will add roughly 263,000 extra square feet of space to the plant. Of that, 181,000 square feet will be for an updated body shop with cutting-edge robots. There will also be 54,000 square feet of additional room in the paint shop and 28,000 square feet of more area for general assembly.
GM isn't saying as much, but there is the possibility that this extra space could allow for additional models produced at the factory. Cadillac reportedly dropped plans to build a three-row SUV on the Lambda platform earlier this year, however, dealers for the luxury brand were recently pitched the possibility of adding large and small CUVs, an ATS convertible or a sedan below the ATS.

Buick shows off new Ultra Luxury Interior for LaCrosse

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

The options sheet of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse gets all kinds of fancy with the addition of the Ultra Luxury Interior. Pointing its Tri-Shield logo at the world of haute luxury, the cabin treatment combines sangria leather with ebony accents, shadow tamo ash wood trim and a microsuede headliner to "drive fashion forward."
You'll need to start with LaCrosse models with the 3.6-liter V6 and either the Leather, Premium or Premium II trims to go all Brioni and Buckingham on the cabin, and the privilege package will run you $2,495. We're told that you won't find such contrasting hues anywhere else in the class, though, and that kind of exclusivity might make any price a bargain.
You can find more information on the Ultra Luxury Interior in the press release below, along with some intensely fashion-foward gobbledygook.

The importance of Angel Eyes, Ventiports and four round taillights

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. Take a look at the full video below for an interesting dive into what these styling features mean to their individual brands.
