1976 Buick Electra 225 Sedan 4-door 7.5l 455 Gm General Motors Car Engine on 2040-cars

Year:1976 Mileage:74610
Location:

Mansfield, Ohio, United States

Mansfield, Ohio, United States

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM MY LANDLORD (WHO HAS OFFERED TO BUY IT BACK BUT AM SEEING WHAT OFFERS I GET BEFORE DOING SO). IT WAS IN A GARAGE FOR 17 YEARS AND NEVER DRIVEN THOSE 17 YEARS UNTIL I BOUGHT IT TWO YEARS AGO. I HAVE PUT MAYBE 400 MILES ON IT. I HAD PLANS TO RESTORE IT COMPLETELY AND MAKE IT A SHOW CAR BUT NOW I HAVE PLANS TO MOVE BACK OUT WEST AND NO PLAN TO TAKE THIS 6,000 POUND CAR WITH ME.

THIS IS A 1976 BUICK ELECTRA 225 WITH A 455 V8 ORIGINAL ENGINE WITH 74,610 ORIGINAL MILES.

THIS IS THE SECOND BIGGEST CAR GENERAL MOTORS EVER MADE.

THE CAR IS 95% RUST FREE. UNDERNEATH PRACTICALLY LOOKS LIKE IT IS ON THE SHOW FLOOR STILL IT IS SO CLEAN. THE ORIGINAL OWNERS HAD IT UNDERCOATED. THERE IS PRACTICALLY NO RUST UNDER THE CAR. MAYBE SLIGHT SURFACE RUST ON THE EXHAUST PIPE AND OTHER RANDOM AREAS.

THERE IS VERY LITTLE SURFACE RUST ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR (PICTURE INCLUDED) WHICH IS JUST IN FRONT OF THE HOOD. THE CAR DOES NEED A PAINT JOB, THE PAINT IS FADED FROM AGE (IF YOU PLAN TO RESTORE IT)

THE ORIGINAL SOFT TOP ON THE CAR IS IN IMMACULATE CONDITION FOR ITS AGE, IT IS NOT DRY ROTTED OR TORN ANYWHERE. THE STRING STITCHING IS FRAYED DOWN THE CENTER.

THERE IS ONLY ONE VERY TINY DING ON THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. YOU HAVE TO LOOK VERY HARD TO NOTICE IT. I HAVE LOOKED IT OVER MANY TIMES. (I WAS GOING TO HAVE IT PAINTED) THERE IS A PICTURES OF THIS DING IN THIS LISTING AND IT HAS A GREEN CIRCLE AROUND IT.

THE TRUNK IS CLEAN AND HAS THE SPARE TIRE AND JACK

THE RADIO IS ORIGINAL AND WORKS

INTERIOR IS IN AMAZING CONDITION

PUMP THE PEDAL A COUPLE TIMES, THE CAR STARTS RIGHT UP, NO PROBLEMS.

THIS IS A VERY NICE CAR AND I KNOW I WILL REGRET SELLING IT BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS AND I HAVE OTHER DESIRES IN LIFE RIGHT NOW.

IT WILL NEED A NEW BATTERY SINCE IT HAS SAT AND DIED SO MANY TIMES. IT WILL HAVE TO BE CHARGED TO START IT.

CLEAN TITLE

I HAVE PUT NEW REAR BRAKES ON IT, A BRAND NEW RADIATOR IN IT IN THIS PAST JULY, I ALSO PUT 4 BRAND NEW WHITE WALL TIRES ON IT IN SUMMER 2013. THE ONES ON IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT WERE 17 YEARS OLD AND LOOKED BRAND NEW STILL BUT WERE DRY ROTTED FROM AGE SO I REPLACED THEM.

THE THINGS WRONG OR THAT DO NOT WORK THAT I AM AWARE OF ARE AS FOLLOWS:

THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOWS DO NOT ROLL DOWN. COULD POSSIBLY NEED NEW WINDOW MOTORS AND OR SWITCHES. BACK WINDOWS ROLL DOWN JUST FINE. THEY ARE ELECTRIC POWERED WINDOWS.

THERE IS A LIGHT RATTLING SOUND BUT IT IS A VALVE THAT CONTROLS HEAT FLOW AND DOES NOT EFFECT THE OPERATION OR PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR IN ANY WAY. IT USUALLY GOES AWAY AFTER THE CAR RUNS A LITTLE BIT.

THE ENGINE COULD USE SOME CLEANING UP AND MOST LIKELY A TUNING UP. MICE CHEWED THE COATING ON A COUPLE WIRES, NOTHING MAJOR THOUGH.

WATER SLOWLY LEAKS INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD ON THE DRIVER SIDE. YOU WOULD NEED TO TAKE THE METAL TRIM OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD AND SEAL IT WITH SOMETHING. A METAL BRACKET IS RUSTED UP UNDER THE DASH (CAN SEE IT WITH FLASHLIGHT) FROM WATER LEAKING IN. I HAVE KEPT THIS CAR COVERED AS WELL AS UNDER A ROOF SINCE I BOUGHT IT.

I RECOMMEND CHANGING ALL THE FLUIDS IN THE CAR. THERE IS NEW GAS IN THE TANK, NO OLD GAS IN IT.

THE BUMPER FILLER FOR AROUND THE TAIL LIGHTS DRY ROTTED OVER THE YEARS. YOU CAN ORDER NEW FIBERGLASS ONES FROM A COMPANY IN FLORIDA. I HAVE THE PHONE NUMBER TO THE BUSINESS.

THE ONLY THING CLOSE TO MAJOR WRONG WITH THE INTERIOR IS A SMALL TEAR / CUT IN THE "LEATHER" PANELING ON THE DRIVER DOOR ABOUT 3 INCHES IN LENGTH. THE INTERIOR IS IN AMAZING CONDITION FOR ITS AGE AS WELL.

AIR CONDITIONING WILL NEED RECHARGED AND/OR FIXED

CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK, COULD JUST BE A FUSE, I DON'T KNOW.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THE CLOCK WORKS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ON THE DASH

MAY BE A PIECE OF SMALL TRIM MISSING AROUND THE WHEEL WELL IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY.

THE CHROME BUMPER, GRILL, IS ALL IN GREAT CONDITION.

TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THE CAR DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS.

I AM CURRENTLY WORKING OUT OF STATE LONG HOURS AND IF YOU PURCHASE THE CAR WE WILL HAVE TO ARRANGE A TIME ACCORDING TO MY SCHEDULE IN ORDER FOR US TO MEET AND TAKE CARE OF THE TITLE WORK.

I WILL NOT LET THE CAR LEAVE ME UNLESS THE TITLE NOTARIZING IS COMPLETED IN FRONT OF ME AND PAID IN FULL. YOU MUST REMOVE THE CAR FROM THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY AFTER TITLE IS SIGNED AND NOTARIZED UNLESS WE COME TO ANOTHER AGREEMENT.

ONLY REPLY TO THIS POSTING IF YOU ARE 100% SERIOUS ABOUT BUYING THE CAR.

PLEASE E-MAIL WITH ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS AND I WILL ANSWER THEM. ASK ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING AND I WILL ANSWER TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS!!! I TRUST THE CAR TO DRIVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY IF THAT MEANS ANYTHING TO YOU. ALTHOUGH I HAVE ONLY PUT MAYBE 400 MILES ON IT SO I CAN NOT TELL YOU EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR. I HAVE NOT SPENT A LOT OF TIME WITH IT. BEFORE DRIVING IT ANY LONG DISTANCE I WOULD HAVE ALL FLUIDS CHANGED AND A GOOD TUNE UP AND GO OVER IT GOOD. SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT IT I STARTED TRAVELING FOR WORK AND HAVE NOT BEEN HOME BUT MAYBE A TOTAL OF 10 DAYS THIS YEAR. I AM SELLING THIS CAR AS IF IT DOES NOT RUN AND/OR PARTS. THERE IS NO WARRANTY, I HAVE TOLD YOU EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE CAR. I AM SAYING THIS BECAUSE I KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT BUY A CAR, SOMETHING GOES WRONG AND THEY ACCUSE THE SELLER OF NOT TELLING THEM SOMETHING. ONCE THE CAR IS GONE, IT IS YOURS AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

I DO BELIEVE THERE WERE NEW SHOCKS PUT ON THIS CAR BEFORE IT WAS GARAGED FOR 17 YEARS. THIS CAR IS THE SMOOTHEST RIDE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. I COULD DRIVE IT ACROSS THE WIDEST PART OF THE GRAND CANYON AND NOT FEEL THE SLIGHTEST BUMP. AS SOON AS I BOUGHT THIS CAR AND PARKED IT AT MY HOUSE I HAD PEOPLE KNOCKING ON MY DOOR WANTING TO BUY IT. I TURNED THEM ALL DOWN BECAUSE I HAD SERIOUS INTENTIONS OF RESTORING IT AND SHOWING IT. I HAD TO PUT A SIGN ON MY DOOR SAYING THAT THE BUICK WAS NOT FOR SALE. NOW OF COURSE I WISH I HAD SOLD IT!

AGAIN, THIS IS A NICE CAR, NEEDS A SHINE JOB, AND ENGINE CLEAN AND THE FLUIDS CHANGED. SOLID SOLID SOLID CAR. DOORS OPEN AND SHUT SMOOTHER THAN ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I SUGGEST NEW RUBBER SEALS FOR THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOWS AS WELL SEEING AS THEY ARE OLD AND DRY.

THE CAR IS LOCATED IN MANSFIELD, OHIO.

ONCE AGAIN, THE CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND I HAVE TOLD YOU EVERYTHING I KNOW. ONCE YOU BUY IT AND THE TITLE IS SIGNED, IT IS YOURS. ONCE AGAIN, ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS PLEASE.

THE VIN NUMBER IS - 4V39Y6H416341

Buick shows off new Ultra Luxury Interior for LaCrosse

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

The options sheet of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse gets all kinds of fancy with the addition of the Ultra Luxury Interior. Pointing its Tri-Shield logo at the world of haute luxury, the cabin treatment combines sangria leather with ebony accents, shadow tamo ash wood trim and a microsuede headliner to "drive fashion forward."
You'll need to start with LaCrosse models with the 3.6-liter V6 and either the Leather, Premium or Premium II trims to go all Brioni and Buckingham on the cabin, and the privilege package will run you $2,495. We're told that you won't find such contrasting hues anywhere else in the class, though, and that kind of exclusivity might make any price a bargain.
You can find more information on the Ultra Luxury Interior in the press release below, along with some intensely fashion-foward gobbledygook.

2014 Buick Regal GS

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

A few months ago I drove the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and wrote up a First Drive review of it. For all of my quibbles with that sedan (and I had a fair number), I understand that it speaks to the heart of what new Buick loyalists like in a car; it's roomy, has a cushy ride and is as placid as a summer's morning at highway speeds.
Those qualities, while undeniably desirable, don't mean a whole lot to me personally. I prefer sedans that conjure up words like "nimble," "punchy" or even "raucous" on occasion. So, directionally, the high-performance GS version of the 2014 Buick Regal is more my cup of tea than any other car in the company's current range.
In fact, I'd already come to know the Regal GS from its 2012 model year introduction, and grown more than a little fond of the sporting sedan in its original front-wheel-drive, six-speed-manual guise. The fast, sweet-handling car with well-sorted controls may have suffered from a slight identity crisis in terms of pricing (and may still), but it was undeniably fun to drive. So, when I heard that the GS was coming to market for 2014 with optional all-wheel drive (albeit only in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission), I was stoked to have another go and concentrated my driving impressions on the AWD car.

GM laying off 510 amidst slow Cadillac, small car sales

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

General Motors is laying off about 510 workers from two factories beginning in January, and it could be months before the automaker needs some of that latent capacity to come back on line. A combination of poor sales and high dealer inventories are prompting the cutbacks, according to Automotive News.
The largest changes come at GM's Lansing Grand River plant, where the Cadillac ATS and CTS are made. An entire shift of about 350 workers is being laid off, but the automaker hopes to find positions for some of them at other nearby factories. The decision leaves just a single shift building vehicles there. According to Automotive News, the move is partially spurred by Johan de Nysschen's plan to make Cadillac a more exclusive brand.
The lost shift will likely return for production of the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro at the plant, according to the report, but GM isn't saying when that will be. A previous announcement from the Canadian Auto Workers union indicated that the Oshawa, Ontario, factory would lose the coupe in late 2015 or early 2016.
