I AM SELLING MY 1967 BUICK SKYLARK. I DON'T HAVE ROOM IN MY YARD FOR BOTH THE BUICK AND A MOTORHOME SO HERE IT IS. WHEN I BOUGHT IT, SHE HAD A CRACKED BLOCK SO I BOUGHT A NEW 350 CHEVY MOTOR AND HAD IT PUT IN. I ALSO SPENT OVER $1,000 FOR THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. IT ALSO HAS AN OIL COOLER, ELECTRONIC IGNITION AND AN ALUMINUM RADIATOR. INSIDE I REDID THE SEATS WITH "UP ARROW" PATTERN COVERS AND NEW CARPET. BOTH ARE CORRECT FOR THAT MODEL YEAR. THE ENGINE HAS LESS THAN 1,000 MILES ON IT. I HAD A LOCAL SHOP DO THE WORK ON IT.

WHAT IT NEEDS: BODYWORK WHICH ISN'T BAD BUT 46 YEARS OF SCRAPES SCRATCHES AND MINOR DINGS. THE TRUNK BAD IN SPOTS BUT HALF A NEW PAN WAS BOUGHT BUT NEVER INSTALLED. OF COURSE PAINT. IT RUNS OK, BUT I'M NOT SURE IT WAS TUNED PROPERLY AS A BRAND NEW ENGINE WITH INJECTION SHOULD RUN BETTER.

WHAT DOESN'T WORK: POWER WINDOWS (SOMETIMES) AM RADIO, CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND THE GLOVEBOX HAS NO KEY (BURIED TREASURE?). IT'S AN EASY PROJECT WITH ALL THE HARD AND EXPENSIVE STUFF DONE. MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY, TUNE IT UP AND SEND ME PICTURES :)

GM expanding Lansing Lambda CUV plant

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

Considering that crossovers are a rapidly growing portion of the US auto market, it's not surprising to hear that General Motors is preparing to build even more of them. The company is investing $63 million to expand its Lansing Delta Township Assembly plant that builds Lambda platform CUVs like the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.
According to GM, the expansion will add roughly 263,000 extra square feet of space to the plant. Of that, 181,000 square feet will be for an updated body shop with cutting-edge robots. There will also be 54,000 square feet of additional room in the paint shop and 28,000 square feet of more area for general assembly.
GM isn't saying as much, but there is the possibility that this extra space could allow for additional models produced at the factory. Cadillac reportedly dropped plans to build a three-row SUV on the Lambda platform earlier this year, however, dealers for the luxury brand were recently pitched the possibility of adding large and small CUVs, an ATS convertible or a sedan below the ATS.

Buick has best sales year ever, delivers over 1M cars globally

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

If there are any lingering doubts why General Motors held onto Buick while killing Pontiac, Hummer and Saturn, one only has to look at the sales numbers from 2013 for the real answer. Thanks largely to strong sales in China, Buick set a global sales record last year by selling more than one million vehicles.
The lion's share of Buick sales came from China, which sold more than 809,000 units - about four times more Buicks than were sold in North America as a whole. In the US, the Buick Encore accounted for almost half of all US sales with 97,311 units as Buick spent the summer trying to keep up with demand of the subcompact crossover. Likewise, China-only models like the GL8 minivan and Excelle sedan (same as the US-spec Verano) were strong sellers in that market.
For good measure, Buick more than doubled its sales in Mexico with 2,319 units. Scroll down for the full press release.

GM mulling Chevy Cruze hatchback for US, Buick 'Panamera' among other new models

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've spoken at length previously about the fallacy of poor hatchback sales in the US, and with the runaway success of its Chevrolet Cruze sedan, it's somewhat unsurprising to hear that General Motors is rethinking its decision not to sell an overseas five-door variant in North America as it looks to plug a number of holes in its lineup. GM North American President Mark Reuss admitted during a media luncheon this week that not offering the model "... was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake," says Forbes. With the next-generation model already well-along in development, it's likely that the current Cruze hatch (shown above) won't see US dealers.
Reuss admits not offering the model "was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake"
In what must have been a far-reaching conversation, Reuss hinted at a number of new products for many GM brands, including "a much more beautiful Panamera" range-topper for Buick (which sounds a bit like the line of reasoning the TriShield brand has been pursuing with its Riviera concepts) and a "Ford Transit Connect-fighter" to supplant the recently announced badge-engineered Chevy City Express from Nissan.
