1967 Buick Riviera 2-door 7.0l on 2040-cars
Fort Bragg, California, United States
This true survivor 1967 Buick Riviera was well maintained and garaged kept for it's entire life by the loving and prideful original owner couple. Although many claim that their classic car is under 100K miles, this vehicle has a pile of paper-work that proves it: it comes with both original build sheets, protect-o plate, a booklet from owner listing mileage and documenting every gassing up, and all past work done (paperwork maintained).
The official paint code is W and it is a rare and classy, exclusive Riviera color: "Riviera Fawn" which is best described as a timeless combination of silver/gold metallic (absolutely majestic in person). The original vinyl black top is in excellent condition and matches the solid black original interior. A '67 Riviera found in this original condition is very hard to find. It drives wonderfully. It comes with an excellent condition, survivor quality, '67 fiberglass Buick "Star Wars" air cleaner. It also comes with the original '67 metal air cleaner. The California black plate (front and back) is in excellent un-restored survivor condition. Cornering Lamps: if your '66-'67 Riviera is lacking these rare cornering lamps, you are missing out. They are functional and give the car a unique and great look. This is another nice option this vehicle has. All original T3 headlights, working power windows, remote mirror, power seat, power antenna, AC blows great (may need to be recharged). Original floor mats. In the trunk: an extra bonus comes in the trunk with four new front light bulbs, new weather stripping, two accessories that were originally purchased with the vehicle (Buick waist basket and cloths hanger). Also included is a nice quality car cover. This car has a great muscle car sound and is in superb condition. Wheels and tires are in excellent condition. NHTSA may greatly expand GM airbag recall
Wed, 05 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pondering whether to dramatically upscale a pair of airbag recalls on General Motors vehicles. The two existing campaigns, one launched in the fall of 2012 and the other in January of this year covered just 6,845 vehicles, but the government agency is considering whether to boost the recall to around 400,000 units.
The existing recalls involve the the closely related 2012 Buick Verano (shown) and Chevrolet Cruze sedans, along with Sonic and Camaro models. The root of the problem is a shorting bar in the inflator module of the steering-wheel-mounted airbag that may contact the primary state airbag terminal, a condition that could prevent deployment in an accident. Dealer technicians have been replacing the steering wheel airbag coils to fix the issue.
According to a post on NHTSA's website, the root cause, said to be a production issue, may not have been completely isolated - particularly for the second recall, which was for the Camaro. According to Automotive News, GM says it is cooperating with the government investigation, but won't say whether or not it knows the true origin of the problem.
GM mulling Chevy Cruze hatchback for US, Buick 'Panamera' among other new models
Fri, 08 Nov 2013We've spoken at length previously about the fallacy of poor hatchback sales in the US, and with the runaway success of its Chevrolet Cruze sedan, it's somewhat unsurprising to hear that General Motors is rethinking its decision not to sell an overseas five-door variant in North America as it looks to plug a number of holes in its lineup. GM North American President Mark Reuss admitted during a media luncheon this week that not offering the model "... was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake," says Forbes. With the next-generation model already well-along in development, it's likely that the current Cruze hatch (shown above) won't see US dealers.
Reuss admits not offering the model "was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake"
In what must have been a far-reaching conversation, Reuss hinted at a number of new products for many GM brands, including "a much more beautiful Panamera" range-topper for Buick (which sounds a bit like the line of reasoning the TriShield brand has been pursuing with its Riviera concepts) and a "Ford Transit Connect-fighter" to supplant the recently announced badge-engineered Chevy City Express from Nissan.
Buick Verano to go turbo-only for 2014?
Sat, 22 Dec 2012If VIN tags recently posted online prove accurate, the 2014 Buick Verano may be getting a new base engine. Presently the Verano makes use of GM's 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine in non-turbo trim; 2014 documentation appears to indicate that GM's entry-level luxury compact will instead feature a 1.6-liter turbocharged mill.
If this is the same engine seen in Europe, GM Inside News suggests it may offer 192 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque - useful improvements over the larger naturally aspirated mill's 180 hp and 171 lb-ft. More importantly, the downsized engine would likely improve on the Verano's current fuel mileage estimates of 21 city and 31 highway.
We like the Verano in both of its current iterations, but the 1.6 turbo engine sounds like a worthwhile upgrade if this reports turns out to be true. Plus, if more performance is your bag, baby, there's always the Verano's optional 2.0 turbo engine with an impressive 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft from just 2.0 liters of displacement.
