Details and work done:

A couple years ago I got hit in the front fender and because I wanted to keep the car, I spent $2000+ in parts to redo the entire front end and sheet metal/molding.

I bought a fender w/molding from California ($500) and rebuild the ENTIRE front end, suspension and brakes ($1500+).

I replaced everything from the A Arms, to the Tie Rods, Shocks, Idler Arm, Sway Bar Links, Pitman Arm, EVERYTHING!! Redid brakes completely, etc. . .

I wanted to keep the car and decided to just do it all while I was at it. . .

About 2 years ago the transmission was slipping a little, so I bought a used transmission and had a shop install it.

It seemed to run and shift well, when I drove it home, but after sitting for over a year, has started slipping and jumping gears.

I think I need to check the fluid and it might be all good, but IDK?

Last year, I put a used POSI Rear End in it after the OEM Unit started grinding.

I tore the used unit down, inspected the gears and replaced everything outside the unit with all new brake lines, emergency cables, brakes (drums/shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, etc. . .) , everything. ($1000)

Last year also, after moving and letting the car to sit once again, the Battery was dead, so the car got a brand new Starter and Battery ($200).

If you do the math, I have Soooo much money spent in the last couple of years on the car and it just sits since I have others.

I have another car coming in about a month and since this one sits, it has to go.

I'm losing so much money on this car, it's not funny, but Something has to go, so it's for sale. . .

Ps.

I have the couple pieces of molding that came off.

I have more pictures and Sorry for the ones that I took before cleaning the car.

Also, has some Flowmaster (I think 60 series) mufflers with new pipes put on back in 2008/2009.

Sounds good, but some of the clamps and hangers have rusted or loosened and could use a freshening up...

2014 Buick Regal gets the party rolling in NY

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

Although the first day of the 2013 New York Auto Show kicks off bright and early this morning, Buick got a jump on the competition by unveiling the 2014 Buick Regal lineup last night. While the Regal received many upgrades for the 2014 model year, most of our attention was focused on the sedan's drivetrain.
When the new Regal hits dealers this fall, buyers opting for the new Regal Turbo will be welcomed by an additional 39 horsepower and 35 pound-feet of torque from the 2.0-liter turbo engine; the 2014 Regal GS now features the same output of 259 hp and 295 lb-ft, meaning that it has actually lost 11 hp over the 2013 model year. Buick says the reason for the GS' power loss comes from the fact that the newly available all-wheel-drive system forced the car to use a smaller diameter exhaust system, but representatives on hand assured us that the reduction of horsepower won't affect the car's performance and could even help improve fuel economy. And who knows? Maybe downgrading the power of the Regal GS also helps create a little breathing room for a future Grand National or GNX model...
Although the power under the hood is now the same, it is still impossible to confuse the two cars from the outside. Minor updates give both a fresher look, but the Regal GS has an unmistakeable aggression to it. The GS' interior also helps it stand apart from lower Regal trim levels with an eight-inch configurable gauge cluster similar to what is offered in the 2014 LaCrosse. The cabin of the Regal wasn't given an extensive makeover like the LaCrosse received, but the upgraded IntelliLink infotainment system and the cleaner center stack and steering wheel controls are appreciated changes.

Movie Review: Black Air: The Buick Grand National Documentary

Thu, 06 Dec 2012

As Buick currently claws and scratches its way back into relevance to compete against luxury brands like Lexus and Acura, it's hard to believe that not too long ago, the brand had a car that was mentioned in the same breath as Corvette, Lamborghini and Ferrari. That car? None other than the Buick Grand National. All black with a turbocharged V6 and some of the quickest acceleration of its time, the Grand National, in today's standards, is along the lines of a 2013 Shelby GT500 with both cars essentially being a working man's supercar.
The last Grand National rolled off the assembly line in Flint, MI on December 11, 1987, and to mark the silver anniversary of that somber occasion, Black Air is a documentary of the Grand National from the perspective of the enthusiast, the collector, the media and even from those at General Motors responsible for creating such a sinister legend. Like the car itself, Andrew Filippone Jr. shoots the documentary in a raw fashion, and it definitely helps to show why a low-volume muscle car from the 1980s is still the object of obsession for many automotive enthusiasts to this day.

eBay Find Of The Day: 1946 Tucker Torpedo Prototype II hides a secret Riviera

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

The Tucker Torpedo is one of the great what-if stories of automotive history. Preston Tucker hoped to revolutionize the industry with a car unlike any other on the road at the time. However, due to a variety of problems, he only managed build 51 vehicles before closing shop. Over time, they have become highly sought-after; In 2012, one sold for $2.65 million at auction.
That brings us to this Tucker "replica" that you see above because it might be one of the ugliest monstrosities ever put together. However, we might extend some leniency to the creator, as the vehicle isn't actually trying to replicate the classic look of the 1948 Tucker Torpedo. Instead, it is attempting to reproduce an earlier prototype from 1946 that actually features that weird, trident nose. According to the seller, his uncle built the car as a labor of love and supposedly used actual plans from Tucker as inspiration.
Underneath all of the crazy changes is a 1971 Buick Riviera powered by a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) Buick V8. Some of the replica's odder modifications include the front fenders that turn with the wheels and the fin running down the back. All three headlights work, but the one in the middle is only for the high beams. Oddly, the small hinged sections on the roof are meant to open to avoid hitting your head when getting in or out. Maybe the seller's uncle was a very tall guy?
