1964 Buick Skylark 2 Door Hardtop Chevy 350 No Reserve Auction on 2040-cars
Medford, Oregon, United States
NO RESERVE This Buick Skylark is a fun driver for cruising
downtown or running down the freeway. It turns heads wherever it goes. Check
out this clean two door hardtop: good body, newer interior, starts and runs
great, new tires, stops straight and has a mellow sounding dual exhaust. It just
needs to be driven. The drive train is a dependable Chevy 350
engine with a Quadrajet carburetor and Turbo 350 automatic transmission. The
car is reliable and can be driven anywhere. The body is very solid and I have not
found any rust except for very minor surface rust underneath. The amateur paint
job holds a good shine but is not perfect with some minor pits in the paint and
some spots of dust that are visible up close. The Buick rally rims set the black paint off beautifully. The seats and door panels have been
redone in a charcoal gray fabric and a center console with aftermarket gauges was
added. Power steering and power brakes make
this an easy car to drive. All glass is in very nice condition,
windows roll up and down easily. Lights, turn signals, heater and horn all work
great. The AM radio does not work. I am not sure what the actual mileage is but
the odometer reads 60160. This is a nostalgic driver that you will
truly enjoy. There is something unique about these older cars that people
always understand; from the thumbs up or nod of appreciation, this car has it. This is a very solid car at a very
affordable price. Clear title in hand. Buyer responsible for shipping and I will
work with your transporter. NO RESERVE AUCTION |

NHTSA may greatly expand GM airbag recall
Wed, 05 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pondering whether to dramatically upscale a pair of airbag recalls on General Motors vehicles. The two existing campaigns, one launched in the fall of 2012 and the other in January of this year covered just 6,845 vehicles, but the government agency is considering whether to boost the recall to around 400,000 units.
The existing recalls involve the the closely related 2012 Buick Verano (shown) and Chevrolet Cruze sedans, along with Sonic and Camaro models. The root of the problem is a shorting bar in the inflator module of the steering-wheel-mounted airbag that may contact the primary state airbag terminal, a condition that could prevent deployment in an accident. Dealer technicians have been replacing the steering wheel airbag coils to fix the issue.
According to a post on NHTSA's website, the root cause, said to be a production issue, may not have been completely isolated - particularly for the second recall, which was for the Camaro. According to Automotive News, GM says it is cooperating with the government investigation, but won't say whether or not it knows the true origin of the problem.
Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates
Mon, 26 Nov 2012Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.
2014 Buick Regal GS AWD
Thu, 27 Feb 2014"This is just silly," I said as I laughed my way sideways around the icy track at Circuit ICAR, a racecourse, drag strip and kart track at the Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec. It wasn't the activity that had me cracking up, though. After all, winter driving experiences aren't uncommon in this business.
No, in this particular case, it was the car that had me chuckling. I wasn't in a mad hot hatch or a rally-derived rocket - I was in a Buick. The 2014 Regal GS, to be more precise. Somehow, despite its recent product renaissance (not to mention its distant - yet storied - history of performance models), I was having a hard time believing that this attractive, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan sliding around the Great White North could possibly be wearing a Tri-Shield badge on its nose.
But it was, and slide about it did. While having access to a vehicle in this setting is fairly rare, what's rarer is the fact that I've had so much exposure to it. In Mr. Ewing's recent Volkswagen Golf R drive story, for instance, his ice capades were his first experience with the new model. In my case, though, I was lucky enough to first test the refreshed Regal GS for a week back in December before flying to Quebec to drive it on the snowy, icy, winding roads of Canada's most fiercely independent province and on the track at Mirabel.
