I am selling a great driving 1969 Buick GS400 Stage 1. It has the original interior in great shape. Runs and sounds really nice. It is a power steering, power seat, power windows, power brake and factory ac car. AC does not work at this time. It needs dryer and condensor.
The headliner has a small tear in one back corner.I have a new headliner for it. I just have not had time yet to install it.
Motor runs excellent and is very fast. It needs valve cover gaskets. I will be replacing these by the end of the week. Mileage show just under 42000, but due to the age of the car, I assume it has rolled.
There are several new items - new exhaust system, 2 new tires and all 4 in excellent shape, new remanufactured carb like it originally came with, new transmission filter and fluid, oi changed, new battery, new paint on dash, newer carpet, new heater core, new stereo and speakers, new rear shocks, new fuel sending unit, new rear brake drums, new emergency brake cable, new front arm rest, new driver's power window control switch.
According to Hagerty.com:
"The GS 400 offered the 340-horsepower, 400-cid V-8 and was available in coupe and convertible. Three- and four-speed manual transmissions were offered along with a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Cold-air Stage I and Stage II induction was available from January 1968, and was the performance option of choice. A Stage I equipped GS 400 could run to 60 mph from a stop in 7.5 seconds.
In 1969 the GS 400 wore a different hood with cold-air induction, and the Stage I and Stage II packages offered serious performance. The Stage I made 345 hp and came with Posi-traction, optional disc brakes and heavy-duty suspension. More impressively, the car's engine generated 440 ft-lb of low-end torque."
Less than 1500 GS400 were installed with the Stage 1.

J.D. Power: Mini, Lexus again offer most satisfying sales experience
Thu, 29 Nov 2012JD Power has released its annual Sales Satisfaction Index Study, and once again Mini and Lexus have taken top honors. Overall, buyers are more satisfied with the auto-buying sales experience than they were last year, with those surveyed reporting an average score of 664 points on a 1,000-point scale. That's up from 648 in 2011. Dealer satisfaction also increased by five points over last year as well.
All told, Lexus brought home an index score of 737, which was high enough to put it atop the luxury brands for the second year in a row. JD Power says Infiniti came in second in that category with a score of 728 and Cadillac rounded out the podium with it's rating of 725. Speaking of Infiniti, that brand saw the single largest jump in sales satisfaction of any brand on the survey, popping up 52 index points over 2011.
Among mass-market brands, Mini ranked highest with a score of 712, followed closely by Buick with 706 and GMC farther down the line with 683. You can check out the full press release below for more information.
Buick asks design students 'What could a Buick sedan look like in 2030?'
Mon, 09 Jun 2014When you think of daring concept cars or emotional design-student projects, Buick probably isn't the first brand that comes to mind. It's not for lack of concepts; when General Motors ran down 11 concept-car highlights from Buick's 110-year history, three of them are from the past 15 years, with other experiments in that same timeframe like the Black Hawk, Centieme and Cielo left unmentioned.
But the company still thinks about them even if we don't. It ran a contest for students at Detroit's College for Creative Studies to create a Buick for the year 2030 that would incorporate future materials and transportation needs, and nanotechnology.
Best exterior design went to Sam Kenny for his Neo Classical Buick, Justin Salmon took honors for innovative material use, like having exposed algae on the bodyshell to generate energy, and Namsuk Lee nabbed best overall concept and best interior for his Buick Vision Sedan. You can read more about the design challenge and winners in the press release, and hear students talk about what went into the work in the video below.
First 2013 Buick Encore TV ad features... dinosaurs
Thu, 14 Mar 2013The whole "SUVs as dinosaurs" trope has become something of a threadbare cliché among auto writers, but that doesn't mean the wider world of consumers has caught on to the Jurassic nature of our line of thinking. That's what General Motors appears to be betting on, at least. Just check out Buick's first television spot for its 2013 Encore, the tiny crossover that is pushing the Tri-Shield into territories unknown while looking to outrun the brand's reputation as a refuge for elderly clientele.
Set to air this weekend on ESPN during the NCAA college basketball tournament, the ad plays up the Encore's maneuverability and surprising interior space by setting the baby Buick amongst a herd of lumbering CG dinosaurs created by Tippett Studio, the folks behind Hollywood blockbusters like Jurassic Park, Ted, and the Twilight series of films.
We can't help but snigger a little - while the Encore is indeed surprisingly roomy, nimble, and composed, our first drive found it to be glacially slow, too... not unlike a certain prehistoric race of animals. Check out the commercial below and judge for yourself.
