Here is a loaded adult owned, non-abused 2005 Cadilac CTS-V in Stealth Gray with tan interior.  I bought this car in January of 2011 with 40,558 miles on it and it has been my daily year round driver ever since.  If you're looking at this auction you probably already know the car has a 5.7 liter LS-6 Corvette engine and a six speed manual transmission.  The car was rated from the factory at 400 horsepower, this one has a little more with the extras listed below.  The car is simply a blast to drive, I honestly look forward to driving it every time I get in.

First of all, here's the story on the title.  As I'm sure you are, I was concerned about the title when I bought the car.  If you look at the CARFAX you'll see that the car was first purchased in California in July of 2006.  The car was taken in for service seven times before the manufacturer buyback title was issued in February of 2008.  On the Warranty Buyback Notice the problems reported by the owner were "Engine makes clunk noise, vehicle battery inoperable and various warning lamps are on".  The repairs made to correct the problem are stated as "Replaced battery, reset tire monitor, no clunk noise from the engine.  Vehicle operating as designed".  I have put over 45,000 miles on the car and have never heard any unusual engine noises or had any problems with the battery.  There were no warning lights on when I bought the car.  There is currently a check engine light on due to the high flow catalytic converters I installed.  The original catalytic converters are included if you want to re-install them and get rid of the warning light.  I included copies of the Warranty Buyback Notice and the scan I recently had done for the warning light for verification.  Realize that most lenders will not loan money on a vehicle with a branded title.  If you are planning on financing this vehicle please arrange financing before you bid.  My opinion on the title situation is the owner at the time was looking for a reason to get out of the car or had some sort of grudge against the dealer and forced them to buy back the car for trivial reasons.  I have owned the car for almost three years now and put over 45,000 miles on it.  It's been my daily driver year round and I have not had one problem with it.

I've put a lot of extras on the car to increase the horsepower a little and just to make it the way I want it.  All were done right and made the car more enjoyable.  They include -
  • KW Variant 3 coilover suspension kit.  The car handles like a go-kart with this suspension kit and it allows you to adjust the ride height.  I have the car lowered about as low as you can go without rubbing the tires.  I did have it to low at first and the front tires rubbed on the fender lips.  If you look real close you can see where they rubbed, not really noticable unless you're looking for it.  It does ride a little stiffer with this kit installed, don't expect the Cadillac ride.  The original suspension parts are included if you would prefer to change it back.  These kits are around $2,500.
  • Eibach front and rear sway bars.  Helps give it that go-kart handling, very little body roll.  Cost around $300.
  • High flow catalytic converters.  The check engine light is caused by these.  Cost around $300.
  • Borla cat-back exhaust.  I checked all the cat-back systems before I bought the Borla.  Borla has a rich, deep throaty sound.  Cost around $1,300.
  • Ported and polished throttle body.  Cost around $200.
  • Volant cold air intake.  Cost around $250.
  • Chrome Cadillac wheels.  A lot of guys like the blackout look but I'm a chrome guy.  I think they look awesome.  Cost around $800.
  • Rear spoiler painted to match.  Cost around $250.
  • The tires are fairly new.  Michelin Primacy MXV4s bought in March of 2013 when the car had around 77,000 miles on it.  I've bought cheaper tires before and regretted it.  Decided to spend the extra money and go with Michelins this time.  These are a 60,000 mile tire and they have around 9,000 miles on them.  Cost around $1,100.
  • Since these cars originally come with run-flat tires they don't have a spare.  I didn't like that so I got another CTS-V wheel and the right size tire so it now has a full size spare tire and wheel.
  • Weathertech floor mats.  I also have the original tan mats that are in good shape and will be included.
If you add it all up there are around $5,800 worth of extras already added and installed on the car not counting the tires.  Tires are kind of a regular maintenance item, not an extra.  I have all the original parts if you want to take any of it off.  I do have the original exhaust but it's all one piece and pretty big.  The rest of the parts are easy to transport.  I've always run premium fuel in the car and changed the oil regularly with Mobil 1 synthetic oil.  I've had fun with the car but haven't abused it at all.  It gets great mileage, took it on a road trip last year and averaged 24 mpg cruising at 80-85 mph.  The mileage in the picture is as of 10/27/13.  I'm not driving it much now but it may change a little by the end of the auction.

The only bad parts on the car are a small scratch on the trunk lid (see pic), a plastic piece on the drivers seat is cracked (see pic) and the tires rubbed on the front fender lips when I had the suspension to low (not really noticable, just wanted to mention).  The seats are good, just normal wear.

The car is located in Kennewick, Washington.  if you're nearby you are welcome to come look and test drive the car.  I will help with shipping as much as I can but all shipping arrangements and cost are the buyer's responsibility.  If you want to drive it home the car needs nothing, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.

$500 deposit required within 48 hours of auction close, prefer to receive that via Paypal.  Remainder due within seven days by Cashier's Check or cash.  The car is listed for sale locally and the seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time.

This has been a great car for me and I hate to sell it but priorities change.  There is not a thing wrong with the car, I'd drive it anywhere.  If you have any questions at all please ask.  If the title bothers you I understand but I know there isn't a thing wrong with this car.  I know you'll love it as much as I do.  Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

SRX-replacing Cadillac XT5 spied for the very first time

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

Cadillac has got big plans in place to revitalize its lineup, with new sedans, coupes and crossovers. And it all starts with this, the replacement for the SRX.
Expected to be called XT5 in line with the brand's new naming scheme, the crossover will be based on a scalable new platform called C1XX - or Chi, for short. In its shorter form, Chi is anticipated to underpin the XT5 as well as a new Chevy crossover and the next-gen GMC Acadia. In long-wheelbase form, the platform is slated to give us a larger Cadillac crossover as well as a new Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.
Power in the XT5 will be provided by a choice of turbo four or atmospheric six, potentially to be transmitted through GM's new nine-speed automatic.

Cadillac flagship, possible production Elimiraj, caught testing

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

One of the biggest debuts at the Monterey car week, both literally and figuratively, was the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept. The massive coupe made quite a splash with the show's well-heeled guests. Now, we have what might be the very first images of the Elmiraj, or whatever it may be called when it reaches production, out testing.
Don't let that modified Chevrolet Caprice body fool you, this car is about four to six inches longer than Chevy's US-spec cop car, from the A-pillar forward. According to our spy, with the Caprice at 203 inches and the concept at 205, adding a few extra inches here and there fits the bill for the four-door Elmiraj that was hinted at in Jay Leno's Garage.
There are a number of other classic mule signs on this car, including a cover over the fuel door and heavily modified front and rear fascias, each of which serves to hide some significant change from the standard Caprice. Using a Caprice for development also, hopefully, hints at something that big Cadillacs like the XTS have lacked - rear-wheel drive.

Cadillac Elmiraj Concept slinks in Leno's Garage

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Jay Leno's Garage has moved to Pebble Beach for the week. This time around, the affable comedian is taking a look at the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept that debuted during the Monterey car week, and is talking to General Motors vice president of global design, Ed Welburn.
There's plenty of reminiscing about what concept cars were like when these two were kids, before a fairly deep dive into the striking Elmiraj Concept itself. Welburn shares a few anecdotes about the design process behind the two-door concept, including how his designers changed his mind on the grille design.
After bringing up the Cimarron, Leno makes a solid point that the Elmiraj would be a solid production car that could even spawn a four-door variant. We couldn't agree more. Take a look below for the full video from Jay Leno's Garage.
