Cts-v Clone V6 304hp Fully Loaded! Navi Heated/cooled Seats, Luxury Package 1&2 on 2040-cars
Faribault, Minnesota, United States
Here is a 2008 Cadillac Cts with the best cts-v clone package you will ever find. Not many people can find all the parts that we had to find in order to clone this car, and even if they could find them, not many people would invest the money. I know I can’t get all my money back from what I spent on this car, but its time for me to get a SUV and thus my baby must go. I bought this car from the insurance company back in 2011 when it had about 35,000 miles on it. at that time it had light front end damage to the right front side of the car. The hood, right fender, bumper cover, and cooling needed to be replaced. This car honestly has every option that you could get in 2008. It has moonroof, pop up touch screen radio with navigation, heated and cool seats, HID headlights that turn when you turn the steering wheel, the 3.6 Direct Injection engine, remote start, 18” Polished Aluminum Wheels, and so much more. I love the look of the Cts-v, however I don’t need all that horsepower and I wanted to drive it all year long and thus I needed the All Wheel Drive. I am a woman and I just wanted something that was different from what everyone else had and yet I wanted it to be a safe daily driver year round. Here is a list and cost of all the cts-v parts that I had installed on this car (no modifications were done to the engine):
-Cts-v hood
$1,000 -Cts-v Rear
Bumper Cover $500 -Cts-v Suede
Steering wheel and shifter $500 -Cts-v 3 piece emblem kit on the front doors and trunk $200 -Cts-v Black wheel center caps $100
Total cost that I spent to make this car a Cts-v Clone $8,200
I wanted to install the cts-v wheels as well, but the problem was that my car is an AWD and needs the front wheels to be the exact same size in the rear of the car. Cts-v wheels are alittle bit smaller in the front then in the rear. so the only way that you could put the cts-v wheels on this car is if you could buy 4 of the cts-v front rims. you can’t use the rears because they are too wide for front use. And to find someone that was willing to sell just the front wheels out of a set of 4 wasn’t going to be easy. and to buy 4 cts-v wheels from GM was going to cost about $2,800 plus the cost of the tires. Then the next issue was going to be the tires themselves. since I wanted to drive this car in the winter, no one makes an affordable winter tire in the size needed to keep the speedometer correct.
This car runs and drives great and needs nothing. there is one or two rock chips in the front of the car and there is a mark on the rear bumper cover where I accidently backed into the garage can in my garage. The body shop told me they could repaint the rear bumper cover for about $300 but I just never got around to having it done. If you know anything about these 3.6 engines, they have issues with the timing chains and I did have all of mine replaced with the new updated timing chains. All of my oil changes were done every 7,000 miles with mobil 1 synthetic oil. tires all have about 50-60% life left. The other issue with these cars is with the moonroof, the seal between the two pieces of glass tend to leak air, so you will get a wind noise inside of the car. I had this seal replaced recently as well. It never leaked any water, but you would hear wind at about 60mph.

GM winding down Chevrolet brand in Europe
Thu, 05 Dec 2013If you've taken even a cursory look at GM's European strategy and wondered how it can target the market there with both Chevrolet and Opel/Vauxhall, you're not alone. In fact General Motors itself has found it difficult to justify the two-pronged approach. That's why it's essentially pulling Chevy from the European marketplace.
Instead of trying to ply European buyers with what are mostly former Daewoo products rebadged as Chevys, GM will now let Opel (or Vauxhall in the UK) represent its mass-market aspirations. Chevrolet will keep its presence in Russia and other former Soviet markets, and will continue selling certain niche products in Eastern and Western Europe. The Corvette, for example, has long been sold in Europe through Cadillac dealerships, which for its part is currently "finalizing plans for expanding in the European market".
While the shift in strategy is expected to help GM get a stronger foothold in the European market in the long run, in the short term the restructuring will cost it dearly: between $700 million and $1 billion, according to its own estimates, split between the last quarter of this year and the first half of the next. GM recalling Cadillac ATS, XTS, Chevy Impala over faulty brake lamps
Thu, 06 Jun 2013General Motors has issued a recall covering 1,627 sedans over faulty brake lamps. Both the 2013 Cadillac ATS and XTS are affected by this problem, as is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.
According to an official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, "the brake lamps may intermittently flash without the brakes being applied and the cruise control may disengage" on these vehicles. The report does not state that the brakes themselves are faulty, but rather that "if the brake lamps flash when the vehicle is not slowing, a following driver may not adjust vehicle speed when the vehicle is in fact braking."
This marks the first recall for the 2013 Cadillac ATS, as well as the recently introduced 2014 Chevy Impala. In late 2012, over 12,000 Cadillac XTS models were recalled due to a head restraint issue.

Tue, 10 Dec 2013The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. Here now is the list of finalists for the big prizes:
