1966 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

The 1966 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, with a production run of only 2,250 vehicles makes this baby a rare gem. With over 200,000 Cadillacs sold in 1966... the 1966 Cadillac was the best ever in sales and production in the history Cadillac. The 1966 Cadillac convertible production reached its peak with 19,200 1966 Cadillac DeVille Convertibles and 2,250 1966 Eldorado convertibles produced. This is an ultra rare car. Only 2,250 1966 Cadillac Eldorado convertibles manufactured. Of which less than ten percent (200 cars) were equipped with the ultra rare bucket seats and console. Furthermore, how many were built like this car and equipped with dual power bucket seats? Additionally, this car appears to have been originally equipped with rare factory head rests.

This car has an interesting history, having been bought new by a cattle dealer in the state of Vermont, who upon his retirement sold it to a Vermont State Senator. It has been blessed to have never have been driven in inclement weather and stored indoors during the winter months. As such, it has only racked up 73,068 original miles on its odometer. This is a very original and unmolested car. It still sports its original leather interior and carpeting. Best of all, it has an uncracked dash pad. It was treated to a very high quality paint refinish in its original Aztec red using Sikkens paint a few years ago by its third owners (a pair of physicians) who owned the car for 17 years and lovingly kept it garaged and out of the rain. The black convertible top was also replaced at that time and is close to new.

This car could be enjoyed the way it is, or upgraded with very little effort. I have located the original missing stainless trim for the bottom of the rear quarters. I just drove this car on a 300 mile trip at highway speeds with no problems. I am a fussy Dentist. 2016 Cadillac ATS-V brandishes 450 horses and 6-speed manual

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Details about the hotly anticipated 2016 Cadillac ATS-V are tumbling out, and they look to be everything we could ask for in a high-performance Caddy coupe.
According to Road & Track, the ATS-V will use a version of the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 from the CTS Vsport, but the wick will be turned up to 450 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. In glorious news for driving enthusiasts everywhere, that potent mill will be available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.
According to R&T, the engine has a heap of high-performance tech to let it make the extra ponies, including titanium connecting rods, two water-to-air intercoolers, titanium turbines for the turbos and an additional radiator dedicated to cooling the gearbox and electronically locking differential. Keeping it all planted are a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and a suspension with 50 percent more roll stiffness.

2015 Cadillac Escalade is exactly what you expect [w/video]

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Leading up to the debut of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, we were told that the new luxo-SUV would be "much less ostentatious" and that we could expect greater differentiation from its Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon siblings. And while those things may be true to some extent, after digesting the full raft of Escalade information and photography, we can say that this new 2015 model is exactly what we were expecting all along.
No, there isn't a single part of the new Escalade package makes us go "wow" or "ooh," but it still looks like a solid, nicely updated offering that will surely attract the same sort of baller status when it hits the road. For starters, the new front end has been completely redesigned, where cleaner, tauter lines work with the full-LED headlamps and running lamps to create a face that, while familiar, falls right in line with the rest of Cadillac's lineup. Around the sides, the shape is exactly the same as the rest of the SUV's platform mates, with better-fitting body panels and a handsome, upright design. Of course, 20-inch wheels are standard, and hifalutin' 22-inch rollers are available (in chrome, we assume). Things get really interesting around back, where full-LED taillamps extend from the bumper all the way up to the top of the tailgate, and - like the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon - the rear window wiper has been integrated into the top of the hatch for a cleaner look. It all looks pretty modern and good, but doesn't really tone down the otherwise flashiness of the Escalade package.
Like its predecessor, the new Escalade will be available in standard- and extended-wheelbase formats (bring on the EXT!). Only one engine is available: GM's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both two- and four-wheel drive configurations will be offered, and the new Escalade should be a bit better to drive than the previous model, with a new coil-over front suspension and five-link rear setup, a wider track, variable-assist electric power steering and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control system with Tour and Sport modes.
