Super clean car, inside and out. Bose stereo system with at least 9 speakers including factory sub in back deck, blue tooth to use your phone hands free, remembers your numbers and contact names, push button on steering wheel and car asks you what you need, call Jimmy and it will. Car comes with two key pods that car can be preprogramed for each individually, for seat and steering adjustment driving or exiting car, stereo presets for each, suspension control for each, contacts for phone and numbers different for different phones. The cruise control uses a radar under mirror to look ahead of car for traffic, if you come up behind traffic it will slow car down applying brakes if needed and follow at what ever distance behind you select, until traffic clears and it sees clear road out front and then will resume to previous desired speed, and anytime you manually push gas pedal it suspends the cruise until you take your foot off of accelerator, you can speed up or slow down manually with pedal.  Heads up display is nice, shows your speed, speed selected for cruise control, radio station if your missing with radio buttons on steering wheel, if you push shifter to the right, manual shift mode is selected and display shows gear your in and tach is displayed. Air shocks in rear adjust rear ride height of car, put a grocery cart of food in trunk and it will adjust before you close the trunk lid, trunk could hold about four carts full if needed, very large. Back up sensors, automatic lights and windshield wipers, never take your key out of your pocket to open doors trunk, get in and push start button and your ready to go, seat is adjusted to you, lights turn on if its dark, windshield wipers turn on if its raining. The north star 4.6L V8 is smooth as silk when driving, but the Variable cam adjustment can bring it to life if you need power, and adjusts back for fuel millage when power is less needed. The AWD and traction control keeps car planted to road even in less then desirable weather conditions. Car is wonderful, only issue is the pressure switch in passenger seat that turns on passenger airbag needed replaced or looked at, dealer quote was 400. for switch and 125. to install, not to bad just haven't had time, will need new front tires before long, back tires still 75% thanks for looking, ask me anything about car, its cool and I have enjoyed owning it for the last couple yrs, still finding neat things the car will do, push the lock button on your key pod and hold it for 2 seconds and it winds up windows and closes sun roof if their open. Car has remote start feature too.

Cadillac reveals stretched ATS-L in China

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

In the market for a new Cadillac, but need more space than an ATS can afford? Then you'll want to look at the larger CTS. Unless you live in China, where buyers - often chauffeured instead of driving themselves - seem to prefer a long-wheelbase version of a smaller sedan than upgrading to a larger one. For those buyers, Cadillac has released the new ATS-L.
Based on the existing ATS sports sedan, the ATS-L offers an extra 3.3 inches of rear legroom over the model we get here. As a result, the ATS-L stretches its wheelbase to 112.5 inches and its overall length to 186 inches, while riding a quarter-inch lower than the standard-wheelbase model, which itself was recently updated. That places its length in between the regular ATS and the CTS available Stateside.
Otherwise it's essentially the same sedan, but appears to ditch the base 2.0-liter four to offer either the 2.0-liter turbo four or 3.6-liter V6. Of course this model, produced locally for the Chinese market, isn't likely to make the transpacific voyage to US showrooms, so American buyers will still have to choose between the standard ATS, the larger CTS or the even larger XTS.

Cadillac SRX production moving to TN, next-gen Equinox going to Mexico

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

It's a good week for the town of Spring Hill, TN, as General Motors has announced that its factory in the city of 31,000 will receive a $185 million contract to produce engines. On top of that, the next-generation Cadillac SRX crossover will be built at the factory (NA models are presently built in Ramos, Arizpe Mexico), which was once famous for being the home of GM's now-defunct Saturn brand.
The factory is one of GM's six facilities around the globe that will screw together the company's new line of three- and four-cylinder Ecotec engines. Spring Hill currently builds the 2.0-liter, turbocharged Ecotec, as well as the naturally aspirated 2.4 and 2.5-liter variants.
Spring Hill's vehicle assembly lines were idled in 2009, but were reactivated in 2011. The SRX is just one of the products meant to benefit from last year's $350-million investment, and should have a positive impact, creating or retaining around 1,800 positions at the factory.

Cadillac snags de Nysschen from Infiniti, names him new president

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Johan de Nysschen, the (now former) president of Infiniti, has officially jumped ship. The 54-year-old, who also spent time as the chief executive for Audi USA, has taken the position of president at Cadillac, following a two-year stint at the Nissan-owned luxury brand. In his new role, the 54-year-old will be responsible "for all aspects of Cadillac globally," according to a statement from General Motors.
"Johan brings to our company vast experience in the development and proper execution of luxury automotive brands," said GM President Dan Ammann, de Nysschen's new boss. "With over 20 years in this exact space, especially in the development of the Audi brand, his track record proves he is the perfect executive to lead Cadillac for the long term."
"I have for some time now been impressed by how the new General Motors has been transformed into a formidable force in the industry," de Nysschen said in a statement. "The combination of strong corporate leadership and exceptional engineering resources presents the perfect combination to restore Cadillac to its place among global premium brands."
