I purchased truck about 3 years ago, had salvage title, was damaged on right side, replaced right fender and all plastic cladding on right side and steering knuckle and shock. Truck has a 6" rancho lift kit with rancho shocks and air bags in rear coils. newer wheel bearings on front and newer pads rotors calipers front and rear. purchased rims and tires last spring brand new, tires are cooper at3 rims are 20" ultra wheels. ride great on road I have not drove truck in winter in since I owned it. I decided to pull the 5.3 liter and install a 6.0 liter I purchased for another project, 6.0 had 77xxx miles and I only used short block, I installed corvette zo6 cam lifters pushrods, had heads ported polished milled, installed set of dougs headers new ac compressor new starter new alternator new belts pullys new plugs wires and used set of 05+ coils. used original computer to truck and installed a bullydog triple dog programmer, runs great! I can get 21mpg on eway with 373 rear end doing 68mph.. I blew the transmission pulling car on trailer from Michigan to florida, had trans rebuilt in Alabama (2200) with receipt and warranty, within the last 4k miles my rear end was chattering so I pulled I had everything replaced in rear end , I took out the ebrake shoes which is why brake light is on dash, installed new ujoints also, my steering intermediate shaft broke recently so that's also replaced and new with warrenty. it sounds like a lot of problems BUT it was all replaced and no expense spared. interior is all black leather, with full full power and power sunroof. I have 7" tv dvd player in dash and kenwood speakers in all doors, kids love watching movies. has woodgrain trim and I have had seat covers on all seats and rubber floor mats since I owned it to protect seats , seat warmers work as well! almost forgot transfer case was serviced when I bought truck and I have NEVER used the 4+4 I always keep it in auto or two high, I guess any questions feel free to ask, no test drives unless u have means to purchase and good -eedback with ebay. any questions please text or call steve 810-569-732nine there is a reserve, I have a lot invested and I know the title effects price but I will not give it away either u will not find a more reliable avalanche LIKE THIS one for this cheap! no leans on truck, cash offers accepted..

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.
Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
