Aveo 2004 For Parts Or Repair, Doesn't Run on 2040-cars
Clinton, Maryland, United States
Used Chevy Aveo, for parts or repair. DOES NOT RUN.
Timing belt broke and apparently did more damage than just a belt and idler/tensioner would fix. New timing belt, idler pulley, and timing belt tensioner already installed. Properly timed and reassembled and won't start. Failed compression test, 0 psi in all four cylinders. Recently installed new wheels, New taillights and headlights, and a new grille. All stock parts go with it, grille, wheels, head and taillights. Damage to paint on rear bumper, dent in roof. The rest of the body looks pretty good, with blemishes consistent with a ten year old automobile. This vehicle ran great and was used daily right up until the timing belt idler pulley broke on June the 6th, 2014. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD "AS IS" AND IS NOT OPERABLE. IT WILL HAVE TO BE TRANSPORTED, NOT DRIVEN, FROM ZIP CODE 20735 I may have forgotten to describe something about this vehicle, if you are curious about something please call. I have no problem answering your questions and will describe anything you have questions about. After looking at my listing I noticed there are no interior pics, they are available on request. The interior in this car is in pretty good shape and I would describe it as "lightly used". Car was recently cleaned at a local detailer and is very presentable. Call with questions, 301-856-5556. Ask for John. |

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
