1955 CHEVROLET 210 HOT ROD Here is an absolutely beautiful 1955 Chevy Hot Rod. This car has gone through an extensive restoration that included replacement of every bushing and seal under the car to make it drive and handle better than new. The power plant of this Chevy consists of a very strong 350 V-8 that has been bored .30 over. The Borg Warner 4-Speed manual transmission shifts in and out of all the gears smoothly while providing the strength and stability to run the car hard if you choose. The added rear stabilizer bars help the traction and stability of this '55 tremendously, and the front disc brakes make it stop properly. The interior is flawless with new leather done in a tuck-and-roll style that really looks sharp! Front seat belts were installed for safety. A modern digital am/fm stereo has been installed into the dash for clear music without cutting out the dashboard. New Sunpro white faced gauges will keep you updated on the temp, oil pressure and volts as you drive. The original steering column has been replaced with an IDIDIT column with tilt, and a very comfortable 3-spoke Grant steering wheel has been installed. Chrome 5-spoke American Racing wheels with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires finish off that hot rod look. Fronts are P235/60/R15 while the rears are P255/60/R15 to give an aggressive stance. All the chrome on this car is excellent, as well as the body work. All original steel with absolutely no signs of rust anywhere to be found. Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors
Mon, 04 Feb 2013As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize. Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers.
