1955 CHEVY BEL AIR PATINA STREET ROD. THIS IS A COOL RIDE 95 PERCENT RUST FREE. ORIGINAL PATINA THE KIND YOU CAN NOT RECREATE UNLESS YOU HAVE 50 YEARS TO SPARE WAITING FOR THE EARTH TO DO ITS MAGIC. THIS CAR IS A HEAD TURNER EVERY WHERE I HAVE EVER TOOK IT. INSIDE IF CAR HAS BEEN REDONE WITH NEW INTERIOR AND ORIGINAL CHROME AND GAUGES. THERE IS A CD PLAYER INSTALLED IN THE GLOVE BOX (AS SEEN IN PICTURE). THE FLOOR PANS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION. THE TRUNK IS IN THE BEST SHAPE I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME IN A BEL AIR. THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT I HAVE DROVE IT ALL OVER. IT HAS AFTER MARKET WHEELS 18'' FRONT AND REAR WITH STAGGERED TIRES. HAS LOWERING SPRINGS IN THE FRONT TO GIVE IT THAT GOOD LOOK. UNDER THE HOOD HAS THAT GREAT PATINA LOOK AND EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. THE CAR HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO 12 VOLT SYSTEM. THE FRAME IS IN GREAT SHAPE DON'T LET THE PATINA PAINT ON THE OUT SIDE FOOL YOU THIS IS A VERY SOLID CAR. THE WIND SHIELD HAS A CRACK ON ONE SIDE AND CHIP ON THE OTHER (AS SEEN IN PICTURE) BUT IT DOES NOT LEAK. WHO EVER IS THE HIGH BIDDER WILL HAVE ONE GOOD LOOKING CAR THAT WILL TURN HEADS EVERYWHERE. GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
