I freely admit an automobilia addiction buying, selling and trading classic cars and bikes. Had a hard time deciding to sell the 49 Fleetline or the 55 Wagon. Chose the wagon because the running gear and body are fresh and ready for service/fun.
If you are a tri-five purist then best not to read any further. The 55 wagon was completely sandblasted, all rust repaired, then painted out flat black for the rat rod look. The original 235 cid engine was rebuilt with a mild cam, dual carbs and exhaust. The engine was matched up with a rebuilt Muncie 4spd transmission. The car sounds fast and loud, drives and handles great. Heater, wiper, electrical all functioning.Car was repainted again for a hotrod look, paint was stressed out for the rat rod look. Most windows are cracked and I like it that way, sorry 55 purists. Really fun car to drive and to be cool.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
