Here is an auction for TWO yes 2 vechicles at 1 great price. 1959 & 1960 chevy bel air. Both cars are 2dr post cars. The auction is for the 1959 & 1960 chevy bel airs and not the yellow chevy truck you see in some of the photos. Both are project cars but are very complete with engine and transmissions. Lots of extra parts. The 1959 has an arizona title and is currently registered until Aug 2013. The 1960 will come with bill of sale only but has been out of the DMV for some time now so no back fees penelties will apply when registering. the 1959 has a rebuilt chevy 350 4speed automatic iwith a new edelbrock carb and the 1960 has the 283 with the original 2speed powerglide transmission. It also has the original as well as a rebuilt single barrel carbuerator for it. Both have been parked in a grage since last year and are not currently running. Previous owner was doing some work to them and swapping out some parts and didnt get them all back together yet. They did in fact run just fine when parked last year so firing them back up again should be pretty easy. Interior needs to be replaced, the 59 will come with an impala front seat but no back seat, and the 60 comes with front and rear seat but need to be re-upholstered. Also alot of the parts have been taken off already sandblasted and primered ready for paint. The 60 has brand new wheels and tires and the 59 are in good shape. The 59 has 2 rust holes in the floor pan as seen in the pictures but an easy fix. There is also a spot on the trunk (see pics). The 1960 has 1 spot that i noticed in the floor (see pic). Again these are projects and need complete restoration but they have all the parts, chrome, engine and tranny. They made need a piece of flat glass or two but i do have some that i will include with the sale. If you have any questions please feel free to email. Shipping is the buyers responsibilty i will help if i can but all shipping arrangements need to be made by the buyer. Thanks

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting?
