56 Convertible 55 56 57 Pontiac- Belair on 2040-cars
Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, United States
You are viewing a 1956 Pontiac 2 door convertible. this car still retains all of it's original drive train including engine, transmission, and rear end. These Pontiac convertibles are like the 55-57 Belairs but are more rare. You will notice by the license plates that it has been parked since the 70's. Since then someone walked off with the convertible bows, and the stainless on the pinch well and windshield stainless but other then that it is complete. There are a set of bows there but is missing the front header bow and they will need rust restoration. I know a guy that might have most of the missing stainless for a reasonable price. I will line the buyer up with him but this is not included in the price of the car. The doors were taken off but are with the car and are definitely repairable as are most of the body panels other then the trunk pan and floor pans as they will need replacement. These cars can be used to convert a hard top car into a convertible but since this car is pretty complete that it deserves to be rebuilt. The engine still turns over and is not stuck and the frame is decent and useable. The interior is there but is missing the back seat but the hard to find front seat is still in car. Remember this car is 58 years old and requires a complete restoration. I am putting a extremely low buy it now so it will leave a person a lot of room to restore it to it's original luster. I require a 500 non refundable deposit by pay pal immediately and the balance within 7 days from end of auction. Ask all questions before buying it now and it is sold as is. Car is located in Midland Michigan.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.
Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
