you are bidding on a 1983 chevrolet k5 blazer with a factory 6.2 diesel v8 with an automatic transmission. it is 4x4 with manual lockouts and its works perfectly. top is removable. has aftermarket aluminum wheels with 32x11.50 bfg all terrains with slight dry wrought but still completely drivable. the blazer is brown with a white top. there is rust as seen in pics but still very fixable. there is one known spot on the floorboard located on the driver side (see pic) not very big at. back window rolls down as it should as do the other windows. also has the old school wing windows. not sure if seats are factory but are in good shape. rear is vinyl and fronts are cloth with seat covers. it does have carpet on the interior and it is in good shape. sometimes if its cold it needs a dab of starter fluid but just needs needs a tune up. always starts! and runs excellent. the odometer reads 90431 but is believed to have 190431. has a frame hitch. frame is in good shape.bull bar on the front. has 12 bolt 308 gears front and rear. this blazer was a daily driver until i got my new truck.

only thing that i know of that is wrong with this blazer besides a little rust is the e-brake does not work, and the fuel gauge is off. 1/4 full on guage is actually full.

if you have any questions at all about this k5 blazer please feel free to ask me.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
