I build a truck every year to keep myself busy and this years project was a 1964 C10 that I wanted in Harley colors and with full air ride and an appeal to both a rat rod guy or a guy that wants no rust clean old truck with some new and old amenities.  I love it, it turned out great and ive put 100 miles on it going to shows won a bunch of trophies and now just bought a 31 chevy so its onto the next.  Im about 30 minutes north of Milwaukee so if you want to see or drive it just get in touch with me.  Shipping in the us will probably be in the $600-700 range.   Alright heres my list of stuff.......grab some popcorn and enjoy the labor and money spent.

1964 Chevy C10 pickup longbox stepside Missouri truck

4 speed manual 283 v8 new gaskets and tuneup, new water pump.

This truck just got finished and I still have to mount the gas pedal and its complete

Truck was solid when I bought it but it had some tacky fixits so I went crazy and bought most new panels.  Bed was perfect but I bought a new tailgate & hardware and bought brand new rear fenders

I bought new front fenders and complete rockers and floor for the truck and all lower braces and cab corners and fixed it all to perfect.  LIft the carpet and its brand new with fresh body color paint.  zero rust anywhere.

Spotless underbody with the original build chalk pen numbers still on the frame.

Brand new full air bag suspension that works killer.   The chrome pump and tank are mounted under the hood so truck keeps its old patina (see pics)

Switch panel inside that controls it all and shows pressure in both front and rear.  New shocks all the way around and shock relocation mounts for better ride quality.  No corners were cut.  This system was $1500 unistalled.

New Vintiques 16" wheels that made the truck.  They are painted the orange and have black chrome rings and new tires with the 5" portawalls.  The lug nut covers are spikes and ill include the center caps brand new that I opted not to use.

I didn't like the gear in the truck so I removed the 12 bolt and took it to ATD and had it completely rebuild with NEW carrier, pinion gear, all new bearings and races and brand new axles (you can see in pics of rear wheels they are new.  I changed the rear gear to a 3:08 gear to make it more of a driver on highway and in city.

All new killer exhaust that sounds incredible.  New from heads back.  The pipes go into an x in the middle then kick out before wheels into cherry bomb type mufflers.   Sweet sound and not too loud

New aluminum radiator, battery, battery cables

Brand new chrome bumpers that I scuffed along with all other chrome to make it look like brushed aluminum

Grill is painted and airbrushed to also look like brushed aluminum

I bought a complete bed kit with all new strips and bolts and I used old barn board to make it look aged.  Turned out great.  I had the inside of the bed and the bed rail tops done in rhino liner like they do in the new trucks.  Sturdy as hell and looks great.

New Dodge Challenger Drag pac seats straight from jegs.  Feels like your in a new sports car.

New carpet...the good stuff berber like

Brand new sound system.  Killer Kenwood with Bluetooth and the usb ports.  High dollar stereo that does everything with a remote control and brand new speakers in brand new kick panels

The truck has 59 Cadillac taillights and the paint is 2 months old on the truck done at a body shop.

I had an airbrusher work on it for days from fake bird sh&t to lacing the roof with spider lace we found at joann fabrics hence the name black widow.   Glove box, tailgate, roof (x rated) and the back of the cab has skull and a spider.   Amazing work

New windshield and moulding all other glass is flawless

New rubber for all doors, felt for windows, both new window regulators, all rubber under hood and door jams brand new.new glove box insert

new grant steering wheel

Motor runs great, powertrain works great

euro headlights (expensive) clear front directional, shifter boot, sill plates chrome

spare parts will go with (spare tire mounts, etc)

New alternator and hoses and overflow.

Display items go with also in bed (fake marijuana bags and an antique scale)

The hood ornament I got on ebay from Europe (spent too much but loved)

new pedal covers, gas pedal, spider shift knob, new visor and visor mount

ill include a quart of the orange paint.

killer factory mirror with a socal metal plate

Heat works choke works all lights work

$7000 in receipts aside from truck cost and paint and air brushing so I hope somebody likes it because I got out of hand.

If I missed anything just message me and ill get you your answers .  ive got a ton of pics so ill see how many I can post or else ill add a photobucket link also.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
