The truck is in very nice condition, but it needs minor bodywork and touch up paint to be show quality again. This truck has the factory 4 speed i.e. t-18 manual trans. 4:11 gear ratio 12 bolt rear end limited slip non posi. Bench seat. 4 new tires. Breaks are in great shape and work fine. the e-break cams are a bit worn out, will not hold the truck on its own. it is hooked up just worn out. Everything on this truck works. New 4 core radiator just installed. The engine is a 1961 283 c.i. corvette engine with the factory steel crank. The engine was just rebuilt about 1000 miles ago. flat top pistons, 202/160 Camel back heads. Holley 600 cfm double pump carb, hei, rpm air gap manifold, cast exhaust manifolds, This truck is very nice, and would not take much work to make it perfect. I gets compliments everytime I take it out. Its a head turner, and with 2.5 inch exhaust with box mufflers its loud in a good way that is."

I gave a good description above. One issue I forgot to mention, is the cork style oil pan gasket has a crack or something going on with it. it leaks a lil nothing major but would need to be replaced sometime down the line. leaking out the left rear of oil pan. other than that this truck is amazing I really want to keep it, just not the best vehicle for the family. And I need a 4 wheel drive for the approaching winter here in Utah. The truck is always garaged and I have always kept up on it. Any other ?s please feel free to contact me at 801 856 3225 or via email seacap2974@yahoo.com thanks for looking happy bidding...

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.

Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica

Fri, 03 Aug 2012

If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
