This is a 1972 Chevy CST/10 (Custom Sport Truck) that would be a good base for your restoration project. This is a highly optioned truck with a 5.7L 350 V8, TH350 automatic, power steering, power front disk brakes, air conditioning (compressor and coils have been removed) short wheel base 1/2 ton truck.
New items on the truck in the last 6 months include: New Edelbrock performer 650 carb with electric choke, new starter, new Thrush duel exhaust system with new Hooker competition long tube headers, billet aluminum valve covers, new power steering pump hoses, new belts, all new coil spring suspension with new shock absorbers, all new u-joints with new center drive shaft support bearing, new rear differential oil and cover seal. This truck does have a valid Georgia state issued title and is a running and driving truck.

Now for the bad: The paint, trim, and interior is in poor shape and in need of restoration. At some point a 1970 front grill was put on this truck to repair previous damage, and I haven't gotten around to switching it back to the correct 72 grill. This truck does have some rust in the customary spots; some holes in the bed and in the inside kick panels and floor board, but very manageable. The side glass is ok but the windshield does have a crack and is getting cloudy and the rear glass needs replaced and the windshield wipers aren't working. Keep in mind this is a 40+ year old truck. If you are looking for a show truck then keep looking. I just don't have the time to tear this truck down and do the restoration on it that it deserves.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.

Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.

2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
