Item for Sale is a 1987 Chevy Custom Deluxe short bed pick-up. I am going to descibe this truck with explaining the good and the not so good. First, we will start with the good, or very good. The truck is straight, no rust anywhere. Rocker panels, doors, fender wells, bed, and floor pans, all in great shape. This truck has a built 350 turbo tranny w/ shift kit. It has a 10-bolt 342 full posi rear end. It has new Cragar SS wheels that are chromed aluminum. Dont have to worry about chrome peeling or rust. Truck has 15 X 7's on the front and 15 X 10's on the rear. The wheels costed over $1500.00. It has P295/50R15 tires on rear and P235/60R15's on the front. 50% tread on front and 75% on rear. It has new Series 40 dual flowmaster mufflers set up with turn downs just in front of rear axle on complete true dual system. Interior is in great shape, with new dash, (see pics). NOW the engine is a 350 V-8 and the engine block is from a 1970 Chevelle SS. It is a four bolt main. It has an all steel Eagle crank with matching rods, it has been line bored and punched out .040 over. Flat top aluminum pistons and H.O. Dart cylinder heads with 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves, Competition roller tip rocker arms, and Z28 valve springs. It has a 292 duration Comp cam and lifters. Performer Edelbrock aluminum intake and a chrome series Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor. MSD distributor, accel plugs and wires, K&N chrome air cleaner and K&N air filter. It has block hugger Hedmann headers, and chrome series Carter electric fuel pump. Engine is all high end and built by local mechanic shop. It runs absolutely perfect, with a rough choppy idle. It has a 2500 stall converter. Has new flex fan. It has a Sunpro tach and sunpro gauges. Truck has only 1600 miles on it since new engine and tranny was installed. Truck has new phantom grill and rear roll pan. Also, it has new Euro style tail lights and new side marker lights on front fenders. Again, body of truck is rust free. All glass is perfect, and back slider has been tinted. Truck runs and drives excellent. Ok, now for the not so good, paint job on truck is not without flaws, and is actually two different colors of red. The paint has been sanded on in spots and you can see the yellow primer. It does not have any of the components for the A/C system, they have been removed. It does not have a radio. The front tires are not an exact match. and I think that is it. This truck is as solid as they come, and is a nice looking truck. So, if u want a fast truck that will rattle the neighbors windows when u fire it up, this is it. It can be a daily driver but you will probably have to have a deep pocket for gas money. So, bid to buy, no teenie boppers lookin' for a free test drive, and no tire thumpers either. Cash before keys. Thanks a bunch for lookin' and good luck with the auction and God Bless us all!!!

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut
Mon, 28 Jan 2013While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
Watch NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon put one over on a used car dealer... sorta
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Full Disclosure: in my younger days, I loved nothing more than tormenting passengers with my behind-the-wheel hijinks. Once, after a particularly artful handbrake turn on a two-lane at around 50 miles per hour, I left one backseat occupant crying in their own lap. This isn't necessarily something to be proud of, but it gives you a glimpse into why it is that I find this ad from Pepsi so damn disappointing. The premise is beautiful. Take NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, give him a disguise and set him loose upon some unsuspecting used car dealer. Hilarity ensues.
Except that this Pepsi Max commercial is so obviously staged, it can't help but feel like some ham-fisted marketing fail. From the strategically placed aftermarket cupholder mounted mid-dash for the hidden camera to the fact that the supposed dealer Camaro is displayed as a 2009 model (Hint: Chevrolet didn't make any), this clip is about as organic as a Twinkie. Still, we would never turn down a chance to watch Gordon thrash on a rental-spec coupe - only problem is, he probably didn't even do the driving himself. Check it out below.
