1972 Chevy C-10 restored from the frame up. Runs Excellent. The engine is a 350 crate engine fastburn, aluminum heads, 440hp, turbo400 transmission, with 373 gears. It has an aluminum radiator, a brand new A/C blows very cold, Sony radio/cd player with speakers, Chevy bowtie floor mats, fire extinguisher, full bench seat for 3 with all working seat belts. The bed is wood made of mahogany. It has auto meter gauges. It has been garage kept and covered for last several years as I was building it. It has a hidden receiving hitch behind the fold down tag that was added to pull a boat, but it was never used because I sold the boat. The bed is wood made of mahogany. I started working on it 1999. I had the cab bead blasted, the frame sand blasted and bought all new front inner and outer fenders and back fenders. It has new rocker panels, floor pans and cab corners. I bought the GM crate motor brand new from Pace parts in 2000. It was painted in 2001 and it does has a few scratches and a very small dent to the back driver side other then that the paint job is still in good condition. BF goodrich tires and American racing wheels all bought new and have only 5000 miles on them. I moved the gas tank to the very back of the truck instead of behind the seat and gas it put in and filled in the bed. It took me 8 years to complete it and the last thing added was Vintage Air and an aluminum radiator. It has been a long work in progress and has been driven very very little. It has been garage kept and covered for last several years as I was building it. Total cost of this build is over $50,000 but it is time for me to let it go, your gain my loss.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
