I bought this 86 Big Block Chevy (454 baby) almost 5 years ago from a guy in Alabama and brought it to Georgia. It's been a Southern truck its whole life so its never seen the salt covered roads of the North. Which means NO RUST. This is a solid truck that has a few paint chips here and there, but is still a real beauty. (I've included pictures of imperfections.)
The front grille is from a 91 Chevy that the previous owner put on to give it a little more of a modern feel. It didn't bother me so I left it on.
This truck is more than just a pretty face it also runs great. I would drive it anywhere. In fact the only reason I'm selling this truck is I've just had back surgery and really don't drive it that much anymore and those doctors insist on being paid.... so my bad luck is your good luck.
List of things done mechanically over last few years.
New carburetor (Edelbrock)
New Fuel pump with adapter
New thermostat
New clutch master cylinder
Replaced throttle return spring
New oil pan gasket
Serviced front and rear differentials
Replaced U-Joint on Drive shaft.
New Interstate Battery
Fixed a CK pinion seal leak
New windshield (professionally done)
Alpine MP3/WMA/AAC CD Receiver
Lots of normal up keep stuff. I take very good care of my vehicles. There might be a few things I can't remember.
Now for things that need work.
The AC works, but not very well. I'm a windows down kind of guy so I never worked on it.
The dash is cracked in a few places. (Typical GM dash.)
That's pretty much it... It's a solid truck. I want to be as honest as possible so the buyer is happy with their purchase. So if there are any questions I will answer them happily.
The over sized tool box (which is awesome) goes with truck.
I'm selling the truck locally so I retain the right to end auction early. Buyer is responsible for pick up. There is a $500 deposit required at the end of auction. Full payment must be made in one week.  Title is clear and ready to be transferred to winner (After payment is received).

On Feb-04-13 at 05:36:29 PST, seller added the following information:

I've had a few people ask me this question so I thought I'd let everyone know... I got carried away with zero's on mileage. The actual mileage is 90840. Thanks.

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
