Last year of this body style; all stock. 3rd owner. Great fixup truck for an engine/chevy guy. Runs ok, but 5.7 Vortec needs a bit of TLC. Quirky starts. Autonation Chev thinks it may have a intake manifold leak, but Ft Meade mechs think Cam retard needs to be reset since installing new Crank Pos sensor. Heat works great, but needs an A/C compressor. Never has driven northern salty/snowy roads. New shocks in 2009, completely new distributor in 2012, new plugs/wires 2013. Brand-new Mastercraft MT 265 75 16s mounted in August, only 2k miles on them. Aligned as well. Dual exhaust. Husky low profile diamond plate toolbox with side runners, and bedliner. Reese 2" hitch, tow strap, chain, and Haynes manual and scantron scanner as well. Rubber floormats. Never mudded, just dirt roads during hunting seasons. Pretty good interior, drivers side leather a bit worn. Have some work into it since buying in 2007, but recent multiple deployments haven't given me much time to focus on motor. Needs servicing since moving up here. Needs someone to take a little time to turn this truck into the beast it once was. Selling due to the need to find a beater car due to my new commute. Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
