2000 Chevrolet 2500HD
Up for sale is a 2000 Chev truck. The toolboxes on the bed are aluminum diamond plate with stainless hardware. The ladder rack is hot dipped galvanized steel with stainless steel bolts. NO RUST!! I hate rust!! The truck frame and body has less than average surface rust too. This has 4.10 gears in the back, a heavy duty transmission that was meant for pulling. There is a temp gauge for the trans and I assume a trans cooler. The fuel pump was replaced about 5 years ago, battery about 3 years ago with a 5 year from Sears. Tires are in great shape. Probably another 3 years left on those at least. The engine has had normal oil changes and runs perfectly. I used to pull my skidloader all the time with this until I got my 2001 with a 496. The 4wd works great. The only issue is the fuel gauge. It works about 20% of the time. Otherwise it sits on empty. Luckily it has a nice big fuel tank. 30 gallon or so. Keep your trip OD in line, and you can avoid a stupid repair for a while. When I drove the truck daily, I'd get around 13-14 MPG, so when you hit 400 miles, you better look for a gas station. Other than that, the truck is tip top.
Why sell such a great truck? I have no employees anymore. I considered keeping this as a backup truck, but would rather just sell it off and pay some bills. Just doing some downsizing. The ladder on top does not come with the truck BTW.
Any questions, just call Kris at 920 377 0193
Cash or cleared check only. No warranty, sold "as is".
This might be in Craigslist for sale shortly too. I reserve the right to end the auction at any point in time.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
