MY WIFE IS FROM
PROCTORVILLE AND SEVERAL YEARS AGO KAREN HAD A 1967 RS/SS 396-4SPD (KARENS67) IN THIS SAME COLOR COMBINATION. SHE
WISHES SHE HAD NEVER SOLD HER CAR SO WHEN THIS OPPORTUNITY CAME TO BE WE FIGURED IT WAS THE NEXT BEST THING
CONSIDERING ALL OF THE KARMA THAT GOES ALONG WITH THIS CAR. LOVE ME SOME CAR-MA!!! WE PURCHASED THE CAR AND DECIDED
TO HIT THE CAR SHOWS AGAIN AND HOPEFULLY MEET BACK UP WITH SOME OF THE FINE PEOPLE WE MET YEARS AGO. SINCE
PURCHASING THIS CAR WE HAVE ALSO ACQUIRED A LITTLE BUNGALO AT A LAKE THAT I GREW UP ON AND YES YOU GUESSED IT. WE
HAVE SPENT MORE TIME AT THE LAKE EVEN DURING THE OFF SEASON AND HAVE YET TO TAKE THE CAMARO TO A SINGLE CAR SHOW. I
DONT SEE THINGS CHANGING AND I REALLY HATE TO SEE THIS CAMARO GO BUT IT'S NOT GOOD FOR THESE ANTIQUE CLASSIC CARS
TO SIT AROUND AND NOT BE USED. IT NEEDS TO BE APPRECIATED, DRIVEN AND TAKING OUT AND SHOWN OFF. THE CAR IS
CURRENTLY RADIO AND WIPER DELETE. THIS IS A NICE CAR BUT COULD USE TO HAVE A FEW THINGS DONE TO IT TO MAKE IT EXTRA
NICE SUCH AS A DETROIT ELECTRIC HIDE-AWAY HEADLIGHT SYSTEM (AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS) THAT I WAS GOING TO INSTALL AND
JUST HAVE NOT GOTTEN AROUND TO IT. I AM CURRENTLY INSTALLING A BRAND NEW B&M QUICK SILVER SHIFTER (AS SHOWN IN THE
PHOTOS). I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR MUCH AT ALL OTHER THAN JUST AROUND THE COUNTRY COMMUNITY I LIVE IN.

2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
