Up for auction is a very original 1968 Camaro, I see no reason to believe this in not an original 51,000 mile car.
All body panels appear to be original and virtually rust free, only a couple of small spots of rust are visible, one small spot about the size of a quarter on the door and another small spot on the quarter panel (please see photos), the rest of the body panels look good, there is no rust on the original floor pans or on the frame or the trunk floor, it does appear to have had some paint work here and there, and where the paint appears to be original is checked.
All the trim, chrome, bumpers and brightwork appears to be original and in very good condition.
The vinal top is in decent shape, i really dont know if it is original or not, it does have flaws but there does not appear to be any rust bumps coming from under the roof
The Original 327 engine runs great and is numbers matching to the car, everything under the hood appears to be original, complete with all A/C parts, exhaust manifolds, air cleaner and all the correct piping, the passenger side front wheel well was cut and patched as it appears someone wanted easy access to replace a heater hose at one point ( I understand this was common practice for A/C equipped cars) The column shifted Powerglide shifts as it should and works excellent, I could not find a tag on it so I am not sure if it is original or not, the 10 bolt rear end is quiet and operates as it should, both the engine and the transmission do appear to have leaks from age but nothing seems major
The interior appears to be original and in decent shape, it does show fading and some wear but all intact and may clean up better than it currently shows, the headliner does have some seam seperation in 2 places
Overall this car is in great shape for the age, it starts runs and drives excellent just like a 51K mile 1968 Camaro would and should, again I cannot verify the milage, but the condition of the car and the way it drives I would believe it is the original miles!!
I will encourage any serious buyer to make time and see this car in person before bidding and please ask any and all questions you may have prior to bidding. This car is being sold as is without any warranty and where is, vehicle shipping is not included in the price of this car, A $500.00 deposit is due within 48 hrs of auction close and the remainder is due in cash at pick up.
Car is for sale locally so auction may end at any time
I can help with or arrange shipping for you at the buyers expense

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
