1968 Camaro Convertible Number Matching. Let's start out with this is a small project. The car does run and drive. But you cannot drive it home 500 miles as the car has been sitting in my garage for some time. So the car needs a tune up. The car does have a nice body on it. At some time somebody has put quarter skins on and did a nice job..The car is straight it is not wavy it is straight The number matching motor is out of the car at this time. But there is another v8 in it running. The numbers on the block match the VIN but I would say if you put it back in, it will need a rebuild. The car as 14in Rally wheels which is kind of rare. The car has all 4 cocktail shaker in it. That is a plus. IT DOES NOT COME WITH A COWL HOOD, IT COMES WITH A SUPERSPORT HOOD. The car will need a new top and interior in it. You could do some blinding on the paint or scuff the car off and shoot the hole car too make sure the colors match. The car came Blue out and Blue in. This car does need work before you get it out on the road. In some of the pictures it looks like a puddle of oil that is not from this car it is just where the car has been moved around in the garage. I did not wash the car before the pictures. It is really dusty. I have too many cars in my garage and it is too much trouble to move them around to get one out. That is why I am saling to downsize. Do not bid if you are going to say I will pay you half now and the other half after I get the car. Like the last guy on the Chevelle I had on here. If you have anything to ask do it before you bid....... The only reason I am saling it is I just got a 1969 Camaro pace car Thanks, Rowdy P S. I will be adding a few more cars I have this week that I am going too sale so look for them all . At anytime I can stop the auction. The car is sold as is where is. .Thanks

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
