WITH IT WILL COME 2 EXTRA DOOR SHELLS AND 1/4 PANEL ROCKER COMBINATIONS. THESE ARE OFF OF A 1979 TRANSAM AND I WAS TOLD IT IS ALL THE SAME SHEETMETAL. I MIGHT BE ABLE TO PUT MY HANDS ON AN ADDITIONAL HOOD FOR $175.00, HOWEVER I DO NOT THINK IT IS NEEDED. THE RADIATOR AND CARBURATOR HAVE BEEN REMOVED FOR THE START OF A"BACKYARD" RESTORATION THAT NEVER TRANSPIRED. I HAVE THE CARBURATOR BUT I DO NOT HAVE THE RADIATOR. THE A/C CONDESOR IS STILL MOUNTED. THE 1984 Z-28 IS A RATHER RARE COMBINATION BEING Z-28 WITH T-TOPS AND 5 SPEED. THE BODY IS EXTREMELY STRAIGHT AND SOLID. IT HAS AN UNKNOWN "HOTROD" MOTOR IN IT AND THE THE ONLY THING KEEPING IT FROM RUNNING IS GETTING THE IGNITION SWITCH HOOKED PROPERLY TO THE STARTER. THIS IS THE BEST I CAN TELL. First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. GM recalls select Chevy Cruze, Sonic and Buick Verano models over airbag issue
Wed, 14 Nov 2012General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models due to a defect in the driver's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the airbag has a shorting bar which may contact two internal terminals. If that happens during a crash, the supplemental restraint may not deploy, increasing the risk of driver injury. The recall includes a total of 2,949 units.
GM will contact owners and replace the steering wheel airbag coil at no cost. At this point, it's unclear when the recall will begin, though owners may contact the automaker at 1-800-521-7300 for more information. You may also take a closer look at the full NHTSA notice below.
Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
