Today I have a 1974 Chevrolet Camaro for sale.....This car is very original and shows..... This is not a car I would take apart. It is so original looking it needs to be shown and used and driven the way it sits. This represents the 70s perfectly.  I believe the paint is original but I'm not 100% sure but it looks very nice and shows as a much older good shape paint, I did not see any multi layered paint at all. The body is in excellent condition. There are very few dents that are only on the side and are hard to see. There are a few minor minor chips and I didn't want to touch them up because they are very minor. I will leave that to whoever buys the car. The body has NO RUST. This is a true ARIZONA RUST FREE car. All the glass in in fantastic condition with no chips, cracks, or hazy look. The glass is nice. It has been garage kept to be in the condition it is in. All the spot welds and seams all over the car including the door jams, floor boards, any tight spots, low spots, underneath of car etc. are RUST FREE. If you are looking for a clean, RUST FREE, dent free, straight, original 74 Camaro with a super low reserve that you can drive anywhere tomorrow, and PRICED TO SELL. This is the car. I took it to a car show a few days ago and people were very shocked with the original condition and brought a good crowd. Enough on the body. The rims are not original but are period correct. The rims are in near perfect condition. The tires are in excellent condition and do not need replacing anytime soon. All lights turn signals etc work as they should. This is an AC car but compressor is not there, I believe the compressor went bad and no one replaced it. All other items are there. The engine I was told from Chevy mechanic I bought car from said motor was rebuilt. I don't know it engine is original. The engine has new carb and aluminum intake. Does not detract from car and those are the only modifications I can see other then the msd ignition box. It runs perfect and starts and drives and brakes straight. The previous owner drove it the last 6 months to dealership as his daily driver. 5 miles each way. New power steering pump. The oil pan has a very small leak I could see, and didn't look like it is coming from the rear main seal. When you look close at the engine you can see all the gaskets are new. Its fun to drive and handles great and like a 74 Camaro should handle. There are a few cosmetic things but are all minor and are the easy fun things to fix like the headlight knob is missing. The interior: Door panels are in great condition with no cracks tears or stains. I think the carpet at the bottom is faded but many people said that is the original color. The dash has a small amount of heat damage. It is bowing up just a little but not horrible. It is not cracked from heat. The only thing the interior needs to make it complete and very nice is the seats re-done and carpet. The seats and carpet are original and the carpet is long shag, which was original. I probably forgot something but if you want an easy Camaro to work on that is DRY, striaght clean and RUST FREE original ARIZONA CAR then bid to win because I want to sell it. Please only bid if you you have the money and intend to buy. I have sold 4 other antique cars and they sold cheap and my reviews are 100%. They were AZ cars as well. I love the AZ clean rust free classics. HARD to find!!!  Any questions please call me. Name is Bob 602-446-8818

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
