I have for sale a 1980 Camaro, I have owned the car for 8 years. the car has new fenders, rocker panels, quarters, hood, and decklid. it was repainted in hugger orange with black stripes. the paint is in decent shape but has a few flaws for its age. ive put a lot of time into it and it still needs some work but its a great start. the drivetrain is very solid. motor is freshly rebuilt and has around 200 miles on it and I have the documentation and receipts for it. transmission is a th350 with a shift kit and it works flawlessly. the rear end was also rebuilt with an auburn gear posi, 50/50 struts and Richmond 4.11s. Brand new rims/ tires, they still have the blue on the white lettering! the interior was next but I have way too many projects and I unfortunately have lost interest in it. interior has 2 orange/black seats and 4 point camlock harnesses and hurst promatic 2 shifter. the front end was also just rebuilt with new upper and lower control arms, coil springs, 90/10 struts, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, center link, and sway bar bushings/endlinks. Again, I have put a LOT of time and money into it and I hate to see it sit in the garage. lastly I thought id add that the car has no heat/ac and the speedometer needs hooked up. it drives and handles very well. I get a lot of compliments on the car and how it sounds. You will not be disappointed! motor specs- 355ci, 9.4:1 compression, stock rods/crank, gm vortec heads(bought new from jegs), lunati cam( .495/.510, 227/233 @.050, 112lsa), jegs champion intake, new pushrods, comp magnum roller rockers, and a holley 750hp carb. it has a march serpentine setup on the front, hei distributor, hooker longtubes (magnaflow mufflers), and its backed with a b&m holeshot 3000 stall converter. |

GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada
Thu, 21 Feb 2013Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.
Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
