Up for auction is a very clean 1990 g92 iroc-z loaded with performance options. This camaro has the Fe2 performance suspension package as well as the n10 performance exhaust. Included in the G92 performance package is a very rare Borg Warner 3.23 geared performance rear axle with Posi track and rear disc brakes. The Fe2 suspension option gives close ratio steering box, larger sway bars, Stiffer springs, and performance shocks. This car has original paint other the the bumper which was repainted with some small scratches and a couple small minor chips barely noticeable. The interior looks great the drivers seat looks to have some ware (see pics) but still looks great. The dash has some hairline cracks that a factory style cover would cure $179.00 The car runs perfect and is very quick. AC blows cold and everything on car works! It has the n96 Wheel upgrade as well, Tires are good 60-70%. This car also came with the dx3 decal delete code. Over all the car looks, runs and drives great. These options make this the most powerful iroc to ever be produced! Only around 900 total of these cars where produced in the last year of the Iroc-z. 1990 would prove to be the best performing IROC-Z models of the 3rd generation models. “In 1990 the G92 option became a full performance "street" package that shocked many unsuspecting 5.0 Mustang of the time, with 230hp and 245hp, 3.23 gears or 3.42 gears, and similar 3,200 lb weight, the 5.0 Mustang guys were quickly finding out that these special optioned G92 Camaros were a different breed from the earlier run of the mill cruiser models... These were bred to race!” There are not many third gen Camaros in better shape then this car! The engine was rebuilt at 90xxx. All original oem parts were used. The transmission was rebuilt in 2004. I have reciepts for both. All numbers match on car! Perfect if your looking to add a third gen to your collection. Mainly garaged with no rust at all or corrosion.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
