1998 Chevy Camaro Z28 Ls1 At T-tops Needs Trans Work on 2040-cars

Year:1998 Mileage:200230
Location:

Gulf Breeze, Florida, United States

Gulf Breeze, Florida, United States

This camaro has like all cars good and bad about the vehicle:

The Bad: Camaro was running great and now seems to have lost 3rd gear and possibly 4th? It shifts into 1-2 and R with no problems. This could be a solenoid or it could need an entire transmission replacement. Dash is cracked ( I have a brand new dash pad soft cover in the box that goes with the car).

The good: rebuilt LS1 with and upgraded cam, new battery, belts, 3" (I believe) mean sounding exhaust!! 4 wheel disc brakes, COLD AC! All power, t-tops that do not leak, very clean interior. Tires with a lot of tread and this thing is FAST! Clean title (Illinois title, vehicle is in florida ) It has been repainted and it looks good from a distance however it's far from perfect. I planned on getting it repainted with some minor bodywork this winter before this happened. You can drive this but I would not recommend you going over 45mph with it lack of shifting. I'd prefer you to trailer it home.

The story behind the car: I bought this car from my friend..
My boys 9 & 11 have been wanting a car to fix up. I've been looking for a muscle car era vehicle but when my friend decided to sell this one for his girlfriend I decided to buy it. I figured it would be a good car for us to fix up. I found a muscle car that I'm going to buy and instead of fixing this one am going to sell and put towards the vehicle I originally wanted. Please contact me with any questions: I am trying to list this to you as if I was buying it ... Vin: 2GF1P22GXW2135062 It does have a reserve at over $1200 less than what I paid for it. I'm trying to factor in the potential cost of a new transmission and I understand that I must take a loss. We all know how it goes with cars. Local pickup only!! Zip code :32561

Cash only and must pickup within 7 days of auction close.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.
